Not nearly enough, but it's something.

I would like to edit in that I ABSOLUTELY am not satisfied with this. They do need to be in prison. They need to be charged with felony premeditated murder. Especially now that it's been proven they got the warrant with false information. And I won't keep quiet or stop fighting until something is done.

I was just saying, to be honest, this is more than I ever thought would actually happen. And even if it's basically them being fired and re-hired a county over, it is *still* more than I ever thought would happen.

Keep up the good fight people!

If I killed someone at work my ass would be taken to prison. I'm glad they are fired but I'm not satisfied.

I don't want them to be fired. I want them tried and convicted, then incarcerated for a very, very long time.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Good. Now arrest them and get the third officer for being an accomplice.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, that doesn't sound like a win, that sounds like the bare minimum before you've even taken real action.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

She lost her life, they lost their jobs.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

So they have the inconvenience of looking for another job where their conduct will be overlooked. Ooh, such terrible consequences...

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

If I've learned anything from CP2077, it's to make walls inside your apartment a LOT thicker to stop roaming assholes shooting through them.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good start. Be better if they were arrested for their crimes.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not charged? Not good enough.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I was fired once for coming in an hour. These mofos murdered an innocent person. Being fired seems pretty tame

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ARRESTED is what’s required

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Now to charge them with murder.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A botched raid? An execution!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL Louisville has changed police department leadership 4 times since Breonna Taylor was murdered by police.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The latest chief, Erika Shields, resigned from Atlanta police department after her white police officers murdered black Rayshard Brooks.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ABOUT FUCKING TIME. Only charged for the shots fired that missed Breonna.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pissed me off to no end.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It sounds like they weren't charged because the Grand Jury was not allowed to charge them. I think Cameron has some explaining to do

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Cameron is an AG in a Republican state that was probably told to volunteer for this case because he's black. He's former legal counsel for /

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

McConnell. And that right there should tell you everything you need to know.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Has the boyfriend been arrested for shooting a police officer..? I know he’s being sued in civil court but has he been arrested..?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was arrested that night, but released a few days later. They dropped the charges, I think.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is awesome! Now that they got them away from protection by the union, the prosecutors finally have leave to indict them for murder.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Keep your eyes peeled. The police union will probably get them reinstated (with back-pay) or rehired elsewhere.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Firing someone is only a minor deterrent, when someone has been murdered in her bed. Charges, arrests, & convictions are the path to justice

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and now make sure they are convicted as the murderers they are, otherwise they will be hired back straight away

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

"rebuilding" means "sweep everything under the rug and pretend that not bringing criminal charges is somehow going to make things better".

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Losing their JOBS is not enough they need to go to JAIL

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How do you set a record for homicides during a quarantine

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The police are exempt?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't fucking know tbh. Louisville is an absolute mess right now. I deliver for Shipt and I bet you I hear gunshots (in shady parts of/

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The city) once a week. It's absolutely unfuckingbelievable. A few days ago like 4-6 people died in one night in two different shootings.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's horrible ?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know its fucked up bring whataboutism but...why are we so ready to throw felony charges for murdered cop but murdered civvie ya fired only

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The cop deserves justice but it just feel like "some deserve faster justice than others"

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're 100% right. Somehow cops have become "higher beings" than the rest of us. Under politicians, but above everyday people.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a start, but they should be arrested. Also, this news was overshadowed by the coup attempt last Wednesday

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know! I saw it and was like, I gotta share. It's not *great* news, but it's something.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now terminate Mattingly as well, for unprofessional conduct

5 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

They should, but they won't. Cause he was injured and somehow I imagine they think "well. Getting shot was enough"

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm getting philosophical here but if getting shot was enough, wouldn't racism have ended a long time ago?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Haha of course it's not enough when you're in the wrong! Now if you're innocent and get shot then it is infinitely too much.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There were accusations of the SAS doing that on raids in NI, deliberately 'clipping' a member to demonstrate that there was resistance.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There was speculation about that happening in this case too. That the one cop that got fired initially shot dude in the leg. But since they/

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Weren't wearing body cameras no one will ever know.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sounds like a good reason, to rid the use of no-knock warrants

5 years ago | Likes 143 Dislikes 2

Louisville did actually put an end to them. It's called Breonna's Law.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. The law needs changed. Those officers were doing their job and were acting “legally” based on what their superiors were telling 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Them. Firing/imprisoning those officers does nothing to fix the system.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where did they act legally? Getting a NK Warrent for a house with little if any evidence?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The officers involved in the raid. They acted according to “acceptable” (note: sarcasm) police protocols. Further up may not have. IDK.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you kidding? Then they'd have to admit the system is wrong instead of just saying those two people were wrong.

5 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

No no, louisville did issue an end to no-knock after this. Called it "Breonnas law". Somehow I feel like that name is disrespectful.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

A lot of laws and such are named like that, such as "Miranda's Rights"

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Never been read your Miranda rights I see?

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ok I guess I meant like, they did that and named it after her and hoped that would be enough to placate the masses. I know it's a common /

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thing and I don't really have a specific argument for the reason I feel the way I do. I just feel it. And actually no, I haven't been read /

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They'll get hired at a department a few counties over.

5 years ago | Likes 425 Dislikes 4

“Your reputation precedes you. We’d like to hire you at maximum pay and rank”

I think you're lacking knowledge the rest of us have. It's very common for this to happen.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Came to say/find this.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If they resigned maybe. Fired is a big mark on your POST record and brings liability, and he probably will not be hired again.

5 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 8

If anything, this incident would make him even more desirable to certain departments.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cops are fiercely loyal to each other. Fired or not, some department will have a job for them.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I feel like you haven't been paying attention.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I think not so much because he got fired as because he's kind of famous now. I doubt any police department in the state would touch him now.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If a cop can get hired as a chief in a new city after being found grooming a preteen girl, then these dudes will have an easy time

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Had a cop friend get a DUI. Fired and had a new job by the end of the week.

5 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Fucked up. Sounds like the other job didn't do a POST request.

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Don't ask, don't tell.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I have a feeling this comment won't age well. Police getting fired for heinous crimes and rehired in other districts, happens all the time.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Damn

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, there is more infrastructure to make sure that incompetent hairdressers don't get new jobs than cops.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why are they not arresting his ass and locking him up

5 years ago | Likes 577 Dislikes 1

They are retiring their sources of scandal so they'll do it again and then they'll say "wasn't us".

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because they can't. The Grand Jury decided otherwise. Read the whole thing. At least they got fired.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

White supremacy

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Getting him fired was the first step towards that. The police union is a very powerful organization and he no longer has their protection

5 years ago | Likes 190 Dislikes 4

Dude will be off for 6 months, move and be rehired.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Feel like police union should know better.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Imho present actions draw from previous consequences. They weren't punished for acting a little evil, they'll act a little more evil again.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And very few will learn from their mistakes.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Came here to say this. Good they’re fired but until theyre prosecuted they’re just going to get picked up by another station. No real change

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

main reason why people are frustrated w/ police. Bad apple or not, it seems the trend invariably is to fire & rehire without consequence

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, I referenced that it was the first step? I never said it was going to happen

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

"[F]irst step" indicates there are additional steps to come

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

First step indicates it has to be taken before subsequent steps can be taken, it doesn't guarantee the direction of further steps.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Step in the right direction, then.
