Every year my friends and I go on a fishing trip to Allagash Lake, Maine located in the darkest skies in the east coast. Each year I get shafted with the milky way shots, where either the moon is out bright and mucking up the shot, or it's cloudy af. Last year, I hit the jack pot.

The most impressive place I’ve been personally was the Grand Canyon. So dark. A little spooky. Spectacular night and daytime viewing.
