This sort of incident shouldn't happen to people in custody, but I'm not shedding any tears over it.

Source: Larry Nassar, the ex-USA Gymnastics doctor who sexually abused girls for decades, was stabbed 10 times in prison

https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/10/us/larry-nassar-stabbed-prison

This is inaccurate, they interviewed the suspect and he was actually just doing a medical procedure

Can we find out who did the stabbing and arrange for a GoFundMe to put some money on his books.

About time someone posted some good news on imgur

When bad things happen to bad people it's really difficult to feel sympathy.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Thing is, we don't have to feel sympathy. But we should be concerned about how the system didn't protect him. Because it may very well be a trans person or a black person or an antifa person or anyone else we think are good people that will get stabbed (already happening anyway). And you know what kind of people are going to rejoice when hearing about it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I hope he lives a LONG time, worrying about the next time it will happen. Maybe then he will know the horror he put others through.

Came here for this reaction lol

My exact thought.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

I didn't even think the oh no part.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I hope he lives, so they can try again...and again...and again..

“Thoughts and prayers”

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

I think we should change that to: “You’re welcome for me merely thinking about your crisis, which is better than me ignoring it but just barely.”

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Mmm Schadenfreude

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sadly, he’s in stable condition. Need to finish the job next time.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

I hope he lives!!! Seriously. His life should be miserable and prison could help with that.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

And, he's still alive. More stabbings!!!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Imgur: "Vigilante justice is never justified." Also Imgur: "This prisoner got stabbed by other prisoners. Good!"

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

it's not justified but I don't feel bad it happened.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he scores a perfect 10. The inmates go wild.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

It's pretty common in prison that pedos are the lowest of the low. Killed your wife? Be my cell buddy! Fucked with kids? You're dead bitch.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Nah, thats not how it goes. Anything against women or children gets a mark put on your back.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Brobably because lots of inmates are in prison due to emotional issues caused by child abuse, be it physical, sexual or psychological. Becomes personal real quick.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Shame…. Moving on

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

They have to keep the sex offenders out of gen pop & it is not always a feasible thing to do.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

We should abolish prison and have convicts face each other in the thunderdome. Scale to offense of course, maybe fight a racoon for a DUI and so on. Televise it, sell merch and tickets, proceeds go to victims compensation fund.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

And all of a sudden, consent is very important to him.

ouch. lol.

He must have been asking for it. Perhaps he shouldn't dress that way?

2 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

Will maybe he shouldn't have lead them on in the first place of he didn't want to get stabbed.

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm still not convinced he was actually stabbed. He's probably just doing it for the attention.

2 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

Shouldve just laid back and enjoy it

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And let's not forget....NOT A DRAG QUEEN.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Sex offenders and pedophiles should not be given special preferential treatment. They should be put in with the general population of prisons. They should feel preyed upon.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

Going to prison should be the punishment. You shouldn't go to prison for punishment. Most people in prison will get out some day, and if you treat everyone in prison like animals, guess how well they'll integrate back into society.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

he has a 150 year sentence, but keep hoping this POS will "get better and get out"

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For every one of him there are dozens that are serving lesser sentences that will some day get out. And invariably trying to slam the hammer down on the Nassars will instead result in the hammer unreasonably being dropped on everyone, to societies detriment

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah I don't care how many pedos get killed in jail. sorry not sorry

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only 10? Slackers

2 years ago | Likes 236 Dislikes 6

Keep him alive. More stabs to follow!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Larry's literally in prison for the rest of his life. Even his attackers wouldn't want to cut his punishment short after only a few years. Not like he's a Dahmer who is an actual threat to the rest of the inmates, give him a good stabbing once and let him live in fear for the rest of his life.

Depending in where they stabbed him 10x...

maybe the toothbrush broke

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But you want him to survive.. death is an easy out....

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

save some for later...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they didnt wanna kill him just fuck him up real good , that way you can do it again when he gets out of medical and back to gen pop

2 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Stab directly through the fingers, it'll cripple him for life, that's 10. You can get an extra 10 out of the toes

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No one wants to work anymore /s

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

JFC, these bloodthirsty comments are atrocious! You know, it IS possible to condemn his crimes and still want a penal system where inmates don't stab each other.

2 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 19

Usually I'd agree, but with this guy, for all he did?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

We are primitive animals and lust for revenge is part of that. You are ethechnically correct though

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Nah. That's how foundations are laid for blaming rape victims: "they were wearing a see through summer dress and I couldn't help myself because I am a primitive animal". Nah, millions of people don't do that and this is the norm.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's really funny how Imgur staff is scared of drawn horsecock, but totally fine with comments wishing for someones death on a daily basis.

2 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 4

I only wish for him to die on a single day.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is hard to feel sympathy for a dude who abused the trust of countless teenage girls so he could get off.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

This sucks not just for the stabee, but also for the stabber. You can end up having to murder a pedo in order to avoid getting murdered yourself, which can further fuck you up mentally and add a murder charge to your sentence. AFAIK you are expected to murder your cellie if he turns out to be a pedo.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

The outrage crowd wants its pound of flesh. Imgur is not different. There's also cat posts.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

heh, heh, you said penal.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

There are many problems with the US correctional industry (emphasis on the industry). Violence in a contained population of criminals (including many violent ones) is certainly one of them. I would like to see that improved while also seeing pedophiles and serial sexual abusers unmercifully punished, particularly those like C. Campos (the soccer coach rapist) who deserve nothing but the most severe, harshest and (yes) cruel and unusual punishment imaginable. Destroying youth lives earns that.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nope. A man or woman touches my daughters and they will not get to prison. Prison is good for reabilitation but this is rotten to the core. Nothing to reabilite or salvage.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 14

Prison is good for rehabilitation? WTF?

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I mean sending people to prison gives them another chance after they get out. As opposed to getting them executed.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

"reabilitation", "reabilite", wtf. Stop making up words. And prison is pretty much the opposite of rehabilitation, especially American prison.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Sorry English is not my first language. Prison is the adult time out. Then they get out and get another chance (in theory). Whereas if they get executed, they don't get a second chance to come back in society.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's not my first language either. And you're not just confused about the spelling of the word 'rehabilitation', but also about its meaning. Rehabilitation is a process of tackling the specific root causes of why someone ended up committing crime.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He scarred over 360 young women for life. Now he is scarred for life too.

2 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 7

Not scarred for life, he's 59 years old. Even if he lives to 100 years, he'll only have been scarred for 41% of his life.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Seems like he has 350 more stabbings to go.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only 350 to go!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m sure there pain is greater but fuck him

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooh I like this comment :)

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not young women. Children. We need to use the correct terms for these kind of crimes. And people who harm children in this horrific way generally do very badly in prison.

2 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 0

Thank you. Yes. I’m sorry. I wish I hadn’t said “young women” now. You’re right about language — it matters.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Both. He abused children and adults alike while at Michigan State University and at USA Gymnastics.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

I understand that, but news reports always describe underage victims as young adults. Percentage wise, including those from the university, the majority of victims will have been under the age of 18 at the start of the abuse. So it must be outlined clearly and consistently.

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Whilst i doubt this actually applies here to the person you first responded to, (lot of people from US on here after all), age of consent and relevant laws age limits does vary between different countries so in some cases those girls below 18 but above a certain age, (mostly 16 or 17 AFAIK), would not be considered children for this purpose. I agree 110% with your general point however.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I understand your point, just also pointing out with position of power this person held and the way the gymnastics community is built the grooming if not actual assault certainly started age 12 and under, barring the rare late entry to professional gymnast world track. So my mind categorizes this systemic abuse as against children for how pervasive it is, it’s rare for anyone over the age of consent to suddenly break into this specific level of the sport.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It feels wrong to talk about the age of consent in this context… given that they did not consent.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's bad that this happens to pedophiles in custody?

2 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 8

If nothing else, we all have better things to worry about than his wellbeing.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes. Basic human rights apply to everyone, and condoning extra-judicial torture because you feel some people "deserve it" is not a good enough reason to erode those rights. Normalizing/celebratory this type of thing makes it more common and accepted, not just for the really heinous people like Nassar.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Agreed. Individually, it feels right. But systemically, it’s part of a larger problem.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Cruel and unusual punishment is banned, for good reason. I'm not crying over this guy, but we can't legitimize shankings or prison rapes.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Well, it's not part of his sentence. I'd prefer sentences be appropriate and that prisons be safe and focused on rehabilitation where possible.

2 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 4

probably not gonna rehab a pedo in 150 years, but good for you for trying I guess

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah good luck trying to explain that to most

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

A justice system failure. But a sick karmic win

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Agreed, IF it must happen, then this is the kind of person I'd like it to happen to.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

We sentence you to XX years in prison and every 3rd Monday a light stabbing. Failure to report to the prisons Stabbing Office, will result in additional punctures. /s

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

"Where possible" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. You can't rehabilitate this guy. My hot take for the day, this is the kind of piece of shit you execute.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Yeah, this isn't the kind of crime where someone couldn't make their way in the world without crime due to their upbringing or bad luck. If one could truly be certain of guilt, I wouldn't see a point in keeping him around, either.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

More than 150 women and girls over two decades.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Amongst the problems with the death penalty, there is no way to design a system where only the truly guilty, irredeemable, are executed.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Which is why, in a legal sense, I'm against it. But that doesn't mean I don't believe there are people who deserve it.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

In contrast to the vast majority of incarcerations that are for issues that could be solved/prevented in better and cheaper ways, this seems like the perfect example of the kind of thing for which a life sentence is actually appropriate. Though I’m not sure how a person could even hypothetically be exonerated from this type of crime, my ignorance doesn’t necessitate such an irreversible sentence as execution.
