Hahahaha I know right, I'd feel bad and do it over, that's cute

What some people call lazy is intelligent use of skill and resources. Like if I create a logo in a moment's notice, they feel cheated. But -

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's why you pay for a professional. I may not always need all the time in the world. I spent time to learn to create these things quickly

Fuck apple products.

Come on I don't like them either but what the fuck is with the hate. Let people use whatever they want to use and mind your business

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I try not to care but Apples "one button solution" is dumbing down the world as a whole. This is how the machines take over.

Is "half 8" 7:30 (halfway til 8) or 8:30 (half hour from 8)?

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 10

Latter

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As a German, when I say "halb acht" I usually mean 19:30.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Which was ridiculously confusing to learn as a Brit. Constantly got times wrong

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4pm mate

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

"9ish" wasn't context clue enough?

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 2

Common sense ain't so common and half of the people in the world are on the lower side of the IQ bell curve.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I read it as half start at 8 half start at 9

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

8:30

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Half 8 is obviously 4 o'clock

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If you split an 8 vertically it becomes a 3. Horizontally an egg shaped 0.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Half 8 is 8:30. Yes, this was confusing for me too at first, but it's basically just saying "half past" and being too lazy to say "past"

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

I never understand how those ways of speaking are any faster than just saying 8:30.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

They're not and I never do

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or fortnight instead of just two weeks. But then again, we're talking about the British...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me in norwegian its 7:30, but in england, for exmple, it would be 8:30 so it messes with my head depending on who im talking to.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I had this exact problem when I started learning Icelandic. But also the word for Tuesday þriðjudagur sounds like Thursday, it's hard.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7:30 for Germans as well

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In the commonwealth it means "Half past", most of Europe it's "half (an hour) til"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

What is this, Fallout? Commonwealth? Name one commonwealth without google. I'll wait.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Are you by chance, terrible at telling jokes?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Half 8" is actually 4:15. "Half 8 or 9ish" is actually between 4:15-4:50ish. Confusing I know but it kept the Germans confused too in WWI.

I told an American coworker I got up at half 7 that morning, his response: "half 7 what is that like 3.30?"

God damn loch ness monster

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I call bullshit. Where is the sauce

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

Yeah it's a joke I believe

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Eh no need to do that even. Half 8 (halb 8) in German is 7:30, and apparently 8:30 in the UK

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

German's only know that now after the war I tell ya!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't know. Even my parents hadn't been born yet while the war was happening. Oh and "Germans", not "German's"... SCNR :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shite. Didn't catch that before I hit send on the phone. Oh well. I'll be leaving it as it to mark my own shame.
