My buddy bought the car, and never thought to check if there was oil in the trans. There wasn't. He told me "If you want to find a trans for it, you can just have it." So that's what I did. Not my everyday car, just a fun little run around. I've been fixing it up a little here and there. Didn't need much to begin with though.

There's never going to be a day when buying a 1986 Nissan Pulsar isn't cool

JDM on the front page. What is happening?

What is this? A car for ants?

My old Sunny Coupé (RZ-1, how I wish it was called that in Europe too):

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow, I haven't seen a Pulsar in years...and the Panasport/Minilite-style wheels work very well on it!

10 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

There aren't many things of this sort of vintage that Panasports don't work on, excellent wheel choice.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This one is a survivor. Other than the trans which I had to replace, and the wheels which I replaced just for fun, it's completely original.

+1 for keeping a good old car like that alive. Gotta love an ol nissan.

Mmmmm. 80's.

This reminds me of initial d

I like it, it looks like the mr2. It's sad that car makers don't make the flip up lights anymore. They are badass.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've heard somewhere that newer pedestrian impact standards killed popup lights. Sounds plausible.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah, that sounds like a good reason that popup lights got completely killed. This makes me sad that there will never be a come back.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So ugly it's adorable

Me irl

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

looks like an MR2 clone enjoy

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sweet rotas bro.( i have the same pair in gunmetal grey :)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thought this was an AE86 from the thumbnail and title. Still a nice car though.

I also drive a car from 86. http://imgur.com/beIBSMD They never die.

Is that a Skylark? My parents had one of those in the early 90's.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fargo much?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope, but it is the other Dakota.

Dang, makes me miss my 86 Mazda colt. Friend just one of these tho, looking forward to work on it with him

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man, makes me reminisce my two old jap cars. 76 and 83 Toyota Celica. Loved those things

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For a second I thought this was the same car as the one in Initial D.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love my AE86 and 80s cars, but they weren't exempt from the "every car looks alike" thing: http://imgur.com/zibP7jG

God I love '80s cars

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

YES 80's Japanese cars are my jam. My old 88 Starion: http://imgur.com/z3GoIH8

Japanese Porsche 944

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man, that's nice. Starions had some of the coolest factory wheels ever.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Thanks, yours is clean too! I found those wheels will fit my new Mini if I use wobble bolts, but I dunno. Offset is super-negative on those.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

me too. my fav era of all cars, especially japs.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grew up next door to a guy who had the same car but white paint. He dogged it and treated it like shit (spoiled). Hated to watch it happen..

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Starion LOVED getting flogged. I'd run boost as high as 21PSI but would cruise @ 18. I tried to run lower @ 12 or 14 and it HATED it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

nice car op

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait is that an import (if you live in merica) or a Chrysler conquest? Basically same car lol just curious.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Correct, same car. Also know as the Plymouth Technica with a DIGITAL FUCKING DASHBOARD

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My goal is to get an '80s car with a digital dash as a project/weekend car

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really want to swap a nx1000 digital cluster into my 240. Not hard to do but finding one and not paying 300+ is hard

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

loved the digi dash on my 300zx

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love those

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Old japanese cars is my passion, beautiful pulsar! Here is my s13

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I feel like you probably drift race in that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sick S13!! Love it. Not a Nissan, but here's my little piece of Japanese history

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Beautiful! Ill have an mr2 turbo any day! :)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm fed up with my van, I want a car like that to have road trip with my husband and.... Without kids !!!! "Sorry kids ! Bye"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like vans

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had one of these. Drove it into the ground and left on the side of the freeway. Good car for $500

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, I hope that there's still no oil in the transmission...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The 5 speeds are designed to take 5w30 motor oil. How cool is that?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was hoping this was the 5spd!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why wouldn't you put oil in the engine and transmission fluid in the transmission?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rad, that makes maintenance easy!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You don't even have to measure. The manual literally says "Fill until oil runs out of the fill port." :D

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

HACHI ROKU?!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, either Takumi is tiny or something's off with that perspective. My AE86 is barely bigger than a Miata.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not quite, though this looks similar to the AE86 Takumi faces off against in Final Stage.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i like it for some reason. what engine is in it?

10 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 1

Its the E16. 1.6 NA. Not at all powerful, but it gets the job done, and runs like a top.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Got more guts than the 1993 Geo Metro Convertible (3-cylinder, 1.0L). Yes, I did drive one for a while.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She may not move but she looks pretty. Nice job.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Single jingle or dohc?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...in uncontrollable circles?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Slap in a CA18DE(T). Believe they made em fwd too

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

literally about as much power as a top

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but is a nice free find. +1

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A raging 70 horsepower!

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

i remember driving one in highschool with my friends and saying "no my foot is all the way down, that's it guys."

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My highschool girlfriend had a 60 hp mercedes diesel. I don't know how you stand it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heh that Nissan weighs almost half what a diesel Merc does.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, my other car is a corvette, so I can satisfy my power needs there. But the pulsar is just as fun, in a go kart way.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pop up headlights are best headlights.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Preach the word!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ngehhehehehe.... Headlights go up, headlights go down. Up. Down. Up. Down. UPDOWNUPDOWNUPDOWNUPDOWN

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

RCR +1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dicked around with the headlights on my MR2 for a solid 5 mins when I first got it xD

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hosier bro

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's legit. I recent lost my 1988 Mazda 323 GTX to a flood. Sad sad day.

10 years ago | Likes 201 Dislikes 0

I lost my '04 Mazda RX-8 to a Flood years back in Memphis, it was like loosing a family member .

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool car. I always wanted one of those.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had one of those. Not impressed. Main reason I hate Mazda/ford

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My 99 Oldsmobile alero may soon be on the same path. They hit me and are saying the repairs will probably cost more than the car

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No man, no. NO. NOOOOOOOO

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was it from all the ladies who saw you driving it?

10 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

GODDAMMIT KAREN, NOT ALL WOMEN ARE LIKE THAT!

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

...nice

10 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

Any lost 323 GTX is a sad, sad thing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*internet hugs

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good lord. I love those. When I have money and time, I'd like to do the full GTX swap into a Mx-3

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Would you use the turbo motor? Or can you use the tiny v6? That would be a cool little car.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Turbo 1.8 4-cyl. The v6's don't bolt up to the same transmissions as the 4's. BUT you can put the VVT mx-5 head on there with a MS3x.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I lost my Jeep Grand Cherokee to a flash flood in May. The pain doesn't leave it just grows dull.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Houston?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

New Mexico

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dang bro, that sucks. One of my close friends has one, just recently rebuilt the motor.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As in... GTX awd 323? ouch...

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the shattered pieces of my heart have still not all been found.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

*manly hug* I am sooooooooo sorry for your loss :(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

those things are bad ass... and really rare too!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh man, that's awful, I love those things. Sorry to hear that.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They only made 500 of those! I had an 88

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

1242 of them were sold in america between 88 and 89, many others were sold in japan and england before that. not many on the road still.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can find them for around 2k here in so cal, usually in shit condition.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My first love was a red 1989 Toyota Celica Gt convertible. She is still somewhat alive. Summer whip.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i'm looking into getting a 1990 celica

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A friend of mine has one for sale... but it's way over in Finland

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I lost my `99 Mazda MX-5 when someone driving a truck decided to take their eyes off the road.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

miatas are a dime a dozen, though. i mean, that sucks and i'm sad for you- but they're no 323 GTX.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are some rare miatas, just as rare as 323 gtx

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry for the loss, just sold my 1985 corolla gts "86" to help keep my 1995 Mazda my-5 alive!!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

omg dude, for a miata!? It shoot my little brother for a gts. (in the leg or something)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Miata is a better car imho, and I have owned 3 86s

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I forgot about these. I have driven 4 2 seaters in my life. This one was pretty cool.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Easily one of the most fun cars I had ever owned

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My favorite was a 1986 MR2. Got it for under $3K, drove it for years.m
