“The Salvadoran government does not plan to release any prisoner from CECOT, and Minister of Justice and Public Security Villatoro has stated that prisoners incarcerated at CECOT will never return to their communities. Villatoro also ruled out rehabilitation programs for CECOT's inmates.”

CECOT is where prisoners go to die.

This is what an updated Auschwitz, American style, looks like, supported in part by U.S. tax dollars.

I wonder if this constitutes an Eighth Amendment violation against anyone sent there from America.

And they can label anyone a gang member and send them here. Guilty without a trial.

Republicans are Nazis. Germans put the concentration camps in other countries, like Poland. The USA is doing the same thing.

Did he make that statement after our courts demanded DOJ get Garcia back?

No, the statement was made a while ago, maybe years ago, not sure. He was basically bragging about this awesome new prison he he'd built.

Isn’t moving prisoners to El Salvador considered a breach of international rights?

11 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Yes

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trump, and putin, netanyahu, etc are at there point where they just say "you and what army?" when folks say they should stop violating human rights. And other countries would rather turn a blind eye and just wct like it's not happening hoping the citizens in each country will rally and overthrow the regimes.

Never forget this is what US torture by rendition looks like. Gitmo. Not technically foreign soil. Torture camps. DeSantis oversaw forced rectal feeding. Seen here prisoners shackled into stress positions, hooded and gloved for sensory deprivation. Forced to kneel on sharp rock- a Japanese WWII torture. In Cuban heat. See also Israeli torture prisons with rape, days long zip tied limbs leading to amputations. The long history of USmil/Intel teaching torture.... 1/

Rendition for torture. "Technically, the Patriot Act did not make torture legal. Because the United States is part of the Geneva Convention, it claims to not partake in "torture," but instead practices "torture lite" or "clean torture" on American soil. Torture lite does not leave any long-standing or "permanent" physical damage, while regular torture can result in death. The United States still practices regular torture in "third-party countries," or those not part of the Geneva Convention...1/

So I want to know more about US funding. I used to work with someone from Costa Rica and they said a lot of this happened during the first Trump Administration. And it was originally only supposed to be El Salvador gang problem and it was now very safe in El Salvador. But at this cost it looks like death camps.

Never forget: this is what a Right wing US torture prison looks like for children. Sleep deprivation and discomfort: Cold. lights always on, noisy, profound mental and emotional cruelty: no comforting the children allowed, inadequate sanitation, no beds, cages, no MH treatment, permanently orphaned by destroying the children's records. https://www.bu.edu/sph/news/articles/2019/child-detention-at-the-border-is-torture/ 1/

You should never forget that there's an entire chain of regular people who Just Followed Orders to send American citizens to these prisons. It's not Donald Trump himself going out on the street arresting, detaining, and transporting these people.

11 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

You know what we call all the Nazis who were just following orders, didn't really believe in the project, were scared the system would turn on them next if they didn't put the uniform on?

Nazis.

When I was a kid I didn't like learning history. Now I have the chance to experience it live. Yay 😭

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You'd think the results would be predictable, but I can assure you, if one of the people responsible should ever land in front of a judge (however likely that is), they will insist they didn't know anything about it and are truly horrified, and had they known before, they would have totally done something.

And knowing America, they will get one or two years of house arrest, then a full presidential pardon once the next administration comes in.

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This is monstrous and evil, devoid of humanity anf compassion. This is not how Nazi Germany started, it's pretty far along the way of how it went.

Not a big step from "you will die here (maybe of old age)" to installing those special showers to speed along the process.

There is not enough words here to tell you how national germany started, but it did not start with cracking down on gang members thst anually caused over 30k murders, the People you see in that picture have all commited at leadt one murder to even be allowed in the group
Not to mentions all the theft, trafficking, drug trade and disreguard of human life

That's what happens when Trump spends most of a decade calling them animals. Disengages them from being human to allow for this kind of treatment. All the times he called them dogs and animals.

Eh, Guantanamo or Abu Grahib are worse than CECOT. And are full murrican. When did Obama or Biden closed Guantanamo?

11 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 9

Someone downvoted you, but it's true. Democrats did not undo such horrors. Looking back, things were going to hell, just at a different speed. Nobody ever dared stop the meat grinder. Did anyone even slow it down, or did they just reduce the acceleration rate?

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Its not a contest.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, it is about leading by example. CECOT exists partially because the regional human rights standard is so low.

Google AI says "The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been accused of involvement in drug trafficking, particularly concerning prison gangs and street gangs, with allegations suggesting that the CIA may have been complicit in or even directly involved in drug trafficking operations to fund covert operation, like the one supporting the Contras in Nicaragua. While investigations haven't definitively proven direct CIA drug trafficking...1/

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there are claims of indirect involvement, with allegations that the CIA may have facilitated or allowed drug trafficking to support other objectives....A series of reports highlighted a San Francisco Bay Area drug ring that allegedly supplied cocaine to the Crips and Bloods street gangs in Los Angeles and funneled drug profits to a guerrilla army supported by the CIA. This ring allegedly opened the first pipeline between Colombian cocaine cartels and the black neighborhoods of Los Angeles....

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, this is 100% a death camp.

11 months ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 9

No, it's a concentration camp. In a death camp prisoners get to "showers" or nagan cellars immediately. In a concentration camp no one cares if a prisoner dies but there's no large scale killing. In a prison/labour camp prisoner abuse causes uproar (see Lynndie England). There were mixed camps (and Auschwitz was really a network of over 40 subcamps) but most had a single type.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah that looks like bodies with blood all over the pavement, and right before the last frame zooms in, there is blood on the other side of that building too. This is a horrifying image, but I imagine several die every day with infighting or beatings from officers.... Sickening. Truly hell on earth. I wonder how much due process those El Salvadorians received before landing in there forever. 💔

11 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

If you can get a clearer image I'm sure news outlets (at least foreign ones) would be very interested.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It wouldn't surprise me at all if true, but honestly you can't really conclude anything from that image alone.

11 months ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

It's a river of blood...

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I mean, it probably is a death camp, but a picture of a stain in satellite imagery isn't exactly conclusive considering there's a million other things that stain could be.

11 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Huh, checking for alternate imagery I noted that the location is empty fields in Bing maps, claims to also be 2025 imagery (at least in the copyright date) like Google maps for the same area (13.534554, -88.805504).

11 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Its there on google maps

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

..... which is the video above, hence why I was looking for something different that might happen to have higher quality imagery.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh I read that wrong. My bad. I checked google Earth, and it has a more current image where the stains appear more clay colored.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know what we're looking at.

I hope it something else, but that looks like dried blood, or something else that's very unsanitary, perhaps.

That's america. To us outside of America and most likely to those inside it's irrelevant that some people did not vote for him. That's your leader, that's your country. When people get sent to death camps it does not make them feel better that you didn't vote for him.

Then all Germans are nazis.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

During wwII that is how they were treated yes.

When cities were firebombed the allies did not only target nazi houses.

Your country acts as a single unit, when you apply crazy tariffs and threaten to annex countries its irrelevant that some of your population says "it's not me doing those things".

So, the United States is guilty of not only violation of law, but crimes against humanity all because a felon and rapist was put in the highest office in the country.

That's about the gist of it.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. The validity of the election has been questioned by Anonymous, our opposition party claims hopelessness while going on book tours, and I am terrified for my family. Tell the people you love not to come here. It will get worse before anything can change.

Have you heard of the CIA? The US has been guilty of crimes against humanity for about as long as it has exisited.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I dare say this cruel and unusual thing has been going on longer than that.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We were guilty of crimes against humanity long before that, but yeah shits getting worse because of him.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to be that guy, but does "Guantanamo Bay" ring a bell? This is just the imperial boomerang, meaning attrocities and ideas carried out abroad will come back to the homeland. Not to defend Trump, but if the US started to grow a conscious there would be a long list of things to go through before even getting to Trumps presidency.

11 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

That's uhhhh.... That's just the latest crimes against humanity though. It's a step up maybe, but they've been at it since ww2

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the potential 13th Amendment repercussions if CECOT does use prisoners for slave labor. While CECOT is outside US jurisdiction the act of "renditioning" prisoners to it can be construed as consigning them to slavery absent trial or conviction. Likewise the wording of the amendment strongly implies if not outright states that enslaving someone must be part of their sentence, "except as punishment," and cannot be automatically granted as part of their conviction.

I mean, as a US citizen, I would argue that it would be the same as arresting a Nazi after WWII. But then again, it is arresting a nazi after WWII, because he is a white nationalist fascist dictator sending people to death camps, and we are chronologically after WWII.
