Also stuck in lockdown 3 in a similar position to you, feel free to shoot me a message. Hoping things will improve in 6-9 months time!

I'm in Kent, UK where are you from? Lockdown is really hard. I'm a key worker so still have a little normality. Always here for a chat.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This doesn't help right now, but I'm a firm believer in "groups" search for fossil hunting clubs in UK when we get out of this.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not entirely sure why I put that shit in quotes. Finding a group based on interests is a great way to make acquaintances if not friends.

There are loads of us here from the uk stuck in lockdown. I haven’t seen friends since October. Just remember you’re not alone :)

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

UK lockdowner right here!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I’m feeling about the same but I’m used to it. Don’t know how to use this app proper but I’m here for you fellow imgurian

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Whats up man ,im 31 and I enjoy watching panel shows while playing hearthstone battlegrounds

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My favorite dinosaurs are birds! And snakes, and turtles...

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dinsoaurs aren't just awesome, they're extremely over-the-top awesome and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dinosaurs ARE awesome

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

@OP - Have you heard of Ark? Ark has dinosaurs and is fucking awesome!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My family and I actually clean dinosaur bones for volunteering!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Has this been figured out yet?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have you seen Genndy Tartakovsky's 'Primal'? If not you should check it out. Also: big dinosaurs, feathers or not?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I feel like the more armored a dino was, the less likely feathers were. A gigantoraptor was almost certainly feathered and quite large.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yuri tyrannosaurus paradoxes was feathered and a large dino.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm 56 and dinosaurs ? are AWESOME

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'm 53 and have my own flock of miniature dinosaurs.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m in a similar boat @op, Birmingham UK. It can’t get much shittier, right? I hope that’s right. I really fucking do. PM me if you want to

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Chat, I don’t know much about dinosaurs but perhaps you can change that lol

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same dude. Where your from?

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I like in the UK, where are you from?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

United states, Michigan. Do they have a day your lockdown is done?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No word on an end date yet, we have a suspicion it’s going to last until summer though

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They keep extending ours. My work may open up this weekend but idk. You still working?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

play Ark with some new friends

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

That’s not a bad idea, I used to play on Pc when it came out in beta

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Right on. A lot has changed since then

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

There are new maps now aren’t there? Did I even see a trailer for Ark 2 with vin diesel?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

yea the best 2 maps in my book are ragnarok and crystal isles. oh and i have no idea why Vin has anything to do with Ark 2. weird.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

There are lots of new maps many of them free, find a good private server where gathering/breeding/taming are multiplied so it's not a grind

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ragnarok bestest map ever.. also check mods.. there are plenty good mods out there

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They updated the harvest to be 2x what it once was so it’s less of a grind. Official servers have the benefit of trading breeding programs

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lockdown sucks. I live alone in U.K. too, far away from my family and have only seen one person I know face to face in the last 3 weeks

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's been 2 months for me, apart from saying hi to the neighbors in passing. Hang in there

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hang in there, things will get better

Rawr!

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

v RAWR!!!

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Can you rawr any louder?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Serious question here that i could probably google and fall down a v time-consuming rabbit hole buttt were dinos actually as hairless?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Depends on the dino. Generally, later ones had feathers, earlier ones didn't.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Feathers

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably not, and probably not as skinny

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The paleo-community likes to call that "skin-wrapping". Animals have muscle and fat on them, so why draw extinct animals without 'em?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It wouldn’t be hair, it’d be feathers.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just finished reading a bird biology book...probably a form of hair that evolved into feathers, like modified feathers. Quite interesting :)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My guess is it was a primitive less structured feather like down or ostrich feathers, less like the structured feathers on most birds today?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm, in biology we tend to make a big distinction in hair being a mammalian trait.. I believe the similarities would be convergent evolution

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, exactly. A modified 'hair,' or hair-like. The book discussed just that, convergent evolution. But it did propose dinosaurs/early 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Is this the greatest thing I've ever seen? NO! It's better than that!

I-O!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're in the UK?! saaame! I'm also 30 & really want someone to talk to! Give me a message if you want a chat anytime :)

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why can't you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom? Becuse the p is silent

5 years ago | Likes 376 Dislikes 1

Also we dont really know what the dinos sounds like, its more a guess

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because they're extinct.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

What do you get if you have sex with a dinosaur...... A Megga-sore-ass....

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

What do you call a lesbian dinosaur? A LICK-ALOTTA-PUSS....lol

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Pterodactyls don't shit?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It would just be oo

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That’s amazing haha thank you

5 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

I found out recently that pterodactyls are not dinosaurs

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have a picture book that begs to differ

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea I felt violated and cheated when I learned the truth

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope. They're pterosaurs. Completely different (but still cool) group of animals.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do you have a favorite? Mine's the triceratops!

5 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 1

Suchomimus!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like plesiosaurus and ankylosaurus. But i also dont really know any other dinosaurs, except Dinah Soar of the Great Lakes Avengers

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Therizinosaurus always the best

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yass! How did they even go from carnivore to herbivore? So cool!!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell yea! Murder turkeys for the win!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My favorite dinosaur is the raven.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

bros, therizinosaurus team for life

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All dinos are good, but. Anklyosaurus ftw. Dude was a walking tank with a bludgeon tail. That's badass

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is a question my former manager asks all job candidates.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Id imagine it weeds out a lot of assholes with no personality.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It does indeed.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mine is a hederodontosaurus! Dope little handed digger dudes

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved triceratops too!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm a suchomimus person myself, ever since the Jurassic Park warpath game, I thought it was so cool

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The ceratopsian are fascinating. They once misclassified a juvie and adult because they didn’t realize the frills develop holes with age.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I like that one and Ankylosaurus

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check this one out. I was blown away by the size of it skeleton, pretty amazing! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giganotosaurus

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I loved when these were in one of the Dinotopia books. I think I still have my hardbacks somewhere.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Triceratops is dope, he’s all like, get up off me bro. I really like the Ankylosaurus too, that would be my if a dinosaur, short and wide

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

one thing I love is that I love a dinosaur that for sure was not like they present it to us, we love the shape an artist made, but

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Have no idea how they really were

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right!?! I love those side-by-sides of dogs, groundhogs, dolphins etc that show them "dinosaurized". Could be all wrong. Fascinating!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We get closer over time with more and more to study. Such as t rex no longer drags it tail an raptors have feathers.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We do have a fair idea what some species have looked like, even down to their color. Like Sinosauropteryx and Microraptor.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't know we had color down. That's amazing

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It wasn’t until this very moment I realized that in Land Before Time ‘Sarah’ is actually spelled “Cera” which is short for triceratops

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

+10 because elephants appear to be related to them, and I love me some elephants (shout-out to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust!)

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Albertosaurus! ( Canadian, sorry.)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Liopleurodon is so cool and my fave since childhood! (Though not technically a dinosaur.) And adult me also loves ?.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jurassic world alive my bros

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Came here to ask this. Parasaurolophos Walkerie for me.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Parasaurlophus, hell yea.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Woot woot.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's my fave too! I've got a half-sleeve tattoo on my right arm of a Parasaurolophus family.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now that's some serious dino love. What style is it done in?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was right after one of the sessions but before the ammonites were done.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is absolutely amazing.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here it is after the ammonites were added, but it's a pretty crappy picture. Looks all faded.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you think they quacked?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, they honked. Or hooted. They sounded like a weird brass horn, anyway.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do not. I think they sounded like a trombone and tuba had terrible love child. Based off the hollow chambers in the crest.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Oh crap that thing was hollow? Has anyone tried making a replica and putting air through it?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ive always liked the triceratops! Defo top three! I would say the allosaurus!

5 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

Lol! I wuz gonna say Allosaurus. I also like the Thesaurus.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interesting choice. Mine is Spinosaurus.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Spinosaurus is the bomb! I always had a zoo full of them on Zoo Tycoon.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg, you read my mind. Triceratops for fav herbivore and allosaurus for fav carnivore

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably b/c I had a really neat allosaurus model as a kid

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ha top three! ?

5 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 1

genius

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My favorite has always been the stegosaurus.. swing that thagomizer!!! Whoop whoop ?

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

#teamstegosaurus

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh shit! Allo is mine, too! In Ark, I had a whole army of them until my PS4 wiped.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mines the dieonichus or like I call it fluffy raptor. Also get the game ark I met a lot of good friends playing pave servers

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Second on Ark. As someone who loved dinos as a kid and grew up during the first Pokemon surge, Ark scratches that itch for collecting dinos.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey buddy. I’m in the UK too, currently in hospital with a double fracture of my left lower leg. Not going anywhere, so send me a DM!

5 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

God bless you for your kindness

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh mate! I broke my ankle last year & came off crutches same day as the 1st lockdown. It’s really shitty & tough going esp with all this 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Business going on. I know I felt really isolated & it took its toll. Stay safe & chin up x 2/2

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thanks! That’s very kind. It’s been a bit of an ordeal the last couple of days.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can imagine! Do you have a good story to go with the injury? Mine was rubbish, I fell down the stairs completely sober. Zero anecdote.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think it’s pretty good! Slipped on an icy road in the hills where I live, was alone, screamed from pain and for my colleague for 30 mins

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get better soon mate. All the best from Germany.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ahh man that sucks, you got books to keep you busy?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do! Thanks!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let me know if you read anything that blows your mind :)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Will do!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any chance you're in Dallas? Plenty of outdoor activities that don't require getting within a few feet of eachother

5 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 3

You seem to have a wildly different understanding of "lockdown"

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

People are partying and getting close, I'm talking about shit like disc golf and go Karting, social but distant.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

All businesses apart from essential stores such as food stores and diy stores are closed unfortunately.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well they're a Texan, as am I, and our "lockdowns" were never lockdowns. They just threatened to fine some businesses for staying open.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Im from TX but currently live in RI, and I have been so glad not to be home this past year because it sounds like a hot mess

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eventually they gave businesses permission to have cops remove "trespassers" with no mask. Of course you had to get the cops to respond.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hello from uptown dallas

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yo homie, love that user name, you ever play disc golf?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's up, Dallas! Plano! I think I may end up buying a bike. Something to balance all of this. Theres so many great trails out here.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I won't be getting a bike, but I'd love to go play some disc golf

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd like to. Friends used to play, a lot. Weird anxiety about it. Are there good courses around here?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a few

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do it!!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I live in the UK and we have gone into 3rd national lockdown, only allowed out for work, buy food and exercise :/

5 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Hey bud, yea I’m based in London, living on my own, I struggle from time to time too, happy to chat mate

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You guys are still allowed to go to work? Here we're not even allowed to go into office anymore unless it's strictly necessary.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you feel like talking to someone outside the UK, feel free to PM me too!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hey hey from Poland! Same here, but at least we are allowed to go outside wondering aimlessly.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m in the uk too, depression is kicking my ass. Police are even fining people for travelling for exercise here. Which is brilliant as...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in stoke on trent rn and it’s not exactly a nice place for a walk. Really am struggling.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm in the UK too, feel free to message me. I'm a key worker but will reply as often as I can. Chin up mate, got an ear for you right here

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

London, 31 here. Friends long gone. Tier 4 had me spent Christmas alone, family living in Poland.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

London and alone for christmas too. Hope you're staying safe and sane, friend!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Aww big hug! It was also my first year not being able to go anywhere and spent in alone. I'm in Wales

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Fwiw, as long as people ignore the one way signs at Walmart, limited outdoor activities aren't gonna make things worse.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

We went into national lockdown again, schools are only open for vulnerable and key worker pupils, travel only for essential reasons such as

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In the US, our one lock down lasted 3 weeks, then we got bored, companies realized working from home saved money while remaining eligible 1/

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

For gov subsidies, some of us wear masks. That's our version of lock down,

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Work, buying food and medicine. Not allowed to meet more than 1 other household in an outside space. Worst of all - pubs are closed

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

California here... "worst of all pubs are closed" I'm with you on this one. Play any online games?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Drop me a PM. I'm in the uk too. This new lockdown has messed up my mental health a lot more than I expected. Feel free to chat away mate.

5 years ago | Likes 394 Dislikes 3

Uk here too. I haven’t got much to complain about, but I know what it’s like to be lonely. Drop me a message if you like.

5 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

Same my UK brethren

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes they’re going to have to tighten it up even more. Going to get worse before it gets better

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Aye UK here too. Happy to chat whenever! I've got too much time on my hands which can be a blessing and curse in lockdown.

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Seconded! UK based and dinosaur fan. Always up for random chats :) know that lonely feeling all to well

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Also in the Uk and happy to chat to anyone. Maybe we should set up a discord for people just wanting to chat?

5 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

I'm game for that, just drop me a line with the discord

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd be up for that

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm. Up for that, but what is discord and how do I use it?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A platform people use to talk. It's used for gaming a lot. You can download the app, register and click the link to join the server made.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cool, not to complicated then, thank you????

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes please!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://discord.gg/EEznjfJC

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just set up a UK (and anywhere) Chat.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hey friend, the link has expired. Are people using this, I'd be happy to pop in and chat if people are finding it helpful?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

. For the follow on this, also in the UK and would love to make more UK friends! If no one makes a group I'd be willing~

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Do it, but can you explain discord and how it works?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's very similar to Slack and Microsoft Teams if you've ever had to use those for work.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's basically an app on pc/mobile for gamers to connect but it has evolved beyond that into more different communities as well.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the info friend??

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Filling up with UK peeps here now. Lockdown sucks, our PM is an idiot, too many stupid people just want to spread disease.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

So many idiots coming in to my work to buy food who we know are not essential workers. Hours have been cut so much that im now worse off

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
