We did it and it's not much more expensive. Sam's club had Halloween themed Hershey's, KitKat, and Reese's boxes for 40 cents a bar

I did that last year.....it snowed and only 3 kids showed up. $200 worth of chocolate left over...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same, kids had enough bullshit thrown at them this year. Might as well give what boost you can.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

We aint get to hand out candy in these parts

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Send your address we're on the way..

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But are you handing out rotisserie chickens aswell?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ended up giving out just over 100 full size bars. Usually we have 150-200 trick or treaters. Glad to see the kids out having fun.

Clever. It looks like a selfless deed but we all know you just want to dodge the reaper for one more year. Keep it up Margaret.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doing gods work @op

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We did too, but no children came. My husband was pretty happy he gets all the chocolate for himself now, lol.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have that same bowl!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We did gift bags and set them up around the tombstones we had set up so we can keep our distance.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I did the glow sticks and glow in the dark kit kat wrappers just for the nieghbor kids and it was like a spooky easter out there

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did the same and bought an RC dump truck to deliver the candy to the kids so they don't have to come up to my door. Kids loved it.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That RC truck looks sooo cool!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Filled up baggies with like 10+ pieces of candy apiece. Still smaller pieces, but 100-ish kids got them

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Hope you're not an asymptomatic carrier, otherwise you just infected 100 families. This is not the year for trick or treating

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

If my kid was trick-or-treating, I'd make sure that when they got home it was hand sanitizer time and the wrappers get disinfected b4 eating

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had no trick or treaters :(

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Sounds like you live in a sensible neighbourhood where people care about their kids

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hear you. We put a candy station down at the end of the driveway so we wouldn’t have to come in contact with the kids and everyone is safe

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly enough full size has shrunk over the years.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's age, happens to everyone

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I totally need a 3 Musketeers.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've got plenty ur welcome too

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

for my 7 year old we decorated every door in the house and had her trickortreat I was really scooby-doo esk.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, that's clever

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Full size bar crew here. Never got one as a kid so now I pass them out.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wonder how many are passing on the virus.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

We passed out candy outside. Wore masks the entire time. Parents respectfully kept their distance. It really wasn’t bad... for me anyways.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

What did you wear when putting out the candy? did you wear gloves and a mask? Did you touch your face or ass with the gloves on?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did wear gloves and a mask. And no I did not touch my face nor my ass. Any other questions?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING! This is the WORSE activity to do during the Pandemic!

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

We got full size candy bars, too, but no one showed up :( I'm pretty sad about it, that's the third year in a row for us with no treaters

Since I first saw this cartoon I‘m giving out full size snickers on Halloween.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First thought was this. +1

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was hoping for this pic, you did not disappoint

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Samezies

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You so totally rock!

5 years ago | Likes 166 Dislikes 2

And you don’t!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Hey, @Lassannn isn't all that bad. But still, fuck you, Lassannn.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Trick or treating this year is just about the dumbest thing you could do. Hey. let's spread this virus round the whole neighbourhood!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Children barely get it or pass it on, it's adults who need to be careful. Use halloween masks + hand sanitizer, it's fine

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Jeezus, don't believe Trump's lies, anyone can transmit and children can die too

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We do this and mini playdoughs, just because i love watching the kids get excited.

5 years ago | Likes 298 Dislikes 1

Yes I do little party favor toys. Some kids can't have candy

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our friends kids got little playdoughs. We were amazed, they cracked them open immediately upon arrival home

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That's fuckin' cool.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You're my hero. I would have lost my mind as a kid if I had gotten one on Halloween

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Mini play dough is a good idea. Good on ya

5 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

Came to say same my kids would be so excited

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate having leftover chocolate bars around the house. Definitely play dough next year. (With razor blades, cuz I’m old school).

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Just don't forget to put the heroin in there too

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not one person trick or treated on my street. Which really, I approve of. Shouldnt go door to door virus hunting.

5 years ago | Likes 155 Dislikes 7

No kids on my street neither

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most people in my neighborhood sat outside in their driveway

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A few showed up, i didnt even open the door.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

We did a chute this year, knowing we’d still get only 1/5th of our regular turnout. Kids need it. So do I.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

People either hid candy in their yard, did a PVC tube, or put bags on a table in my neighborhood

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We had a Halloween candy hunt in the house. No door-to-door for us this year.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

I think that was a popular idea, doing it like an Easter egg hunt instead of visiting the whole neighborhood.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

We went, but only to ppl that had chutes or pulley baskets or long perches. One guy was lowering candy down in a CORONA beer bucket. lmao

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 5

I went driving to check out halloween houses with my mom tonight, stopped at one when I saw a chute, put my hand in to check for candy, 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

woman opened door, "You want some candy?" put it down chute so I can say I technically trick or treated tonight

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think a lot of people will do this. Cus hey it’s the little things that count.

5 years ago | Likes 717 Dislikes 1

Nobody should be doing this.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The little things, but not the fun-sized things

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I didnt give out full size bars but I did have large gloves stuffed with all types if candy. It seemed well received.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Giving the little things diabetes.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do this every year. I get liek 1-5 kids a year. This year I got 0. Ah well, Im still holding onto the candy for the upcoming year.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I put a table out front. And put plastic bags full of candy in each (wrapped candy). Had 50 bags. Have 25 left. Fucking 2020 sucks.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

We hand out airplane bottle of liquor to the adults every year. They seem to appreciate it.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah ! Where you live me and the boys are stopping by next year!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know we are.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm glad I didn't buy them... Barely had 10 kids tonight. Threw big handfuls of fun sized candy and I still have way too many leftover.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do fun-size, BUT I give them out by twos. We went through a lot of candy before my move; usually got 50-60 trick-or-treaters. Since moving

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

last year, that's changed... where I live now, we got only six last year (and, out of respect for the plague, I didn't even try this year).

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My first year giving them out, too. Only 6 kids. They were ecstatic!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tried.....didn't get one trick or treater :(

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Me neither

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dunno, big things seem pretty important too.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think you mean the full-sized things?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We do it. Love it when you hear kids shout, "THEY HAVE FULL SIZE BARS" and the goofy little bastards just pour in. Easy pickings.

5 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

Out with my nephews right now and they are doing that. It’s awesome

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

“Easy pickings” makes it sound like you’re up to something!

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I bought full size, nobody came trick or treating

5 years ago | Likes 221 Dislikes 0

Easy solution, I'm happy to eat these leftovers. Or, you could donate it to shelters if you want to spread kindness.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good. There's a pandemic going on. Stay home.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I only had 2 visitors this year where in past years I had plenty more.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I donated my leftover full size bars to an organization that works with my local PD to throw a trick or treat out of car trunks for kids.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You might be able to find a similar charitable trick or treat being thrown in your neck of the woods

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

More candy for you

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We went all out and had two live monsters for scares, and 4 Costco bags of candy... barely anyone ?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We only had a couple, let them take as many as they wanted. The important thing is that you had them ready for them if they showed up!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had six kids. Husband was so sad.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made up goodie bags with candy, fruit snacks and a juice box. Had 7 kids!

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Bummer you get to eat allll of the candy now!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We also didn't get any trick or treaters... And there are a lot of kids in this neighborhood.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same but I had one kiddo... one. So sad

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I noticed that no one was ringing the doorbell or knocking, so I went and sat outside to pass out candy.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did too, got 96 total bars and only seven kids showed. ☹ at least they're home safe

5 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

I’m not a kid, but I can assist in eating the candy!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here. Last kid who came through got 34 full size bars. I'm keeping the rest.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's the win/win, at least. All bought candy never goes uneaten

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

This is true, dont know if I need all that sugar though, haha

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You have until Easter

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I went full sized. Had almost no one. Every kid got TWO full sized. Except the little girl dressed as a stegosaurus. She got 4.

5 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Yay stegosaurus!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I KNOW RIGHT!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's how it's done. This is the way.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We made 30 goodie bags with each a small bottle of water and a full sized candy bar. Only 7 kids.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I think we had maybe 15-30 kids. We just left a big bowl out. About 3/4 was gone when we brought it back in.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If in the US, any homeless near that might enjoy a goodie bag?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We have a wonderful food pantry that receives a surplus of supplies and goods for the needy.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

we stopped at 4 little houses that had nice people out front wearing masks. my poor little girl was so upset she couldnt trick or treat but

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

was trying so hard not to cry over it. We picked a spot that had barely any people and only houses that were wearing masks and she got to

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

get atleast a tiny slice of a normal halloween on our way home from my grandmothers. she told each person thank you for wearing a mask so

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

she could trick or treat. one lady thought she was so sweet she gave her a handful of full size bars since not too many kids were out. it

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

made her entire night 100x better =)
