@ThereIsHopeForYou posted this and it's on fp right now

Noticed this comment (by @TheePerfectComment) and a few others agreeing or saying similar things.

So here you are folks. I went through a bunch of Hitler speeches (ugh) in the Internet Archive (woot) and was able to put this together using free and open source video editor Shotcut.

Edit:

Also I'm trying to stay neutral in this. Somebody just asked for a comparison and I decided to make it. Fuck fascists, though, regardless if they look similar or not.

Edit 2:

If anyone is interested, I did write a poem about the recent capitol insurrection and visualized it line-by-line — https://imgur.com/gallery/4vZINaH

Imitating Hitler with all the stilted awkwardness of ten year olds performing Fortnite dances for their confused and concerned parents.

Respect these dudes, and get more of em in politics.

She looks like the drunk girl throwing a fit at the bartender for refusing to serve her more.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well hitler was pretty good at speeches and adressing a crowd not the worst person to learn from as long that is alll you learn from him

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

And not painting for instance

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

After seeing how she matches the way he spoke I try to think if she recognizes that she did this or if shes just stupid, after all she ....

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did only just get her GED right before running for office. Only because it's the minimum requirement to run for office. Pathetic/appalling

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coming from someone outside of America - staying neutral seems like a bad bet.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

At least Hitler had charisma. I can't believe I'm defending Hitler...what have we come to?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

There are at least two GOP members in Congress that are on the record supportive of hitler

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

While this is disturbingly similar, politicians of all stripes have been borrowing from Adolf’s techniques ever since; they were effective.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Looks like a college student going through the motions to try to make their shitty presentation seem better.

“R” party? Republicans? Racists? Religious Zealots? Repugnant Bastards? Real assholes.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well quite a few people have looked to hitler for tips about public speaking. The man was a genius on that front.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

I never understood why people had trouble acknowledging Hitler was a genius at quite a few things.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Trump was more of a Mussolini student.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And it shows!

"We demand as our right to keep bleeding the american people for our gain, that being allowed under our lord and savior Trump's" - GOP

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

America masackered Nazis before and it's time to do it again. This time they don't have any scientists to keep.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Nazis learned a lot from the US. There was an American Nazi party too.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like people are dehumanizing them by calling them nazis. Scared for the future

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of the one Office episode where Dwight imitated Mussolini for a speech at some paper salesman conference.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hi, italian here. So the way they wave their arm, solo, emphatically communicates they're trying to sell me bullshit. Talking happens /1

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With both hands and I dont appreciate either of these monsters mocking people who have a speech impediment. 2/2

But thats better than a Star of David or a number tattooed on em, right? Right? What? Same vibe? Oh, oh dear...

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 48

Nah, you're just tone-deaf and out of touch. Nazis are treated differently because they choose to be Nazis. Fuck them.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nah, my only point here is that we shouldnt demean ourselves by acting as bad as the bad guys. Ill call out hypocrisy all day long.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean, I get that you're trying to call out a kind of hypocrisy, but like, a) read the room, and b) that ignores the history of Nazis and

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

But reading the room and playing along to it is what led to a lot of this mess in the first place. People being complacent.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 13

Societal change isn't really gonna happen in imgur, but way to ignore the the rest of the post.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nice assumption. I didnt ignore the post, I just like pointing out hypocrisy. I love it when people lose it over reality.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

fascists disappearing into the woodwork, trying to escape accountability for their actions, and live on to continue spreading hate and evil,

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

while Jews already wrote the fact that they were Jewish openly. It wasn't hidden until people started trying to kill them for it.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So little difference between trolling & conservative bad-faith argument. Same love of dominance, same outcome. Sincerity is important.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You're not wrong, however, my initial comment was not meant to troll, just present my opinion in a sarcastic manner. Then it snowballed with

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

All the attacks. One person understood i was pointing out the hypocrisy, just didn't like my way of doing it, i suppose. But notice that

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Thread stayed civil in the conversation. Lol! But i admit, my bad nature got the better of me again with most of the comments.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

We need some sort of eligibility requirements before they can get on the ballot. Knowledge of the Constitution and governmental procedure

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree we should do this for voting as well, stupid people shouldn't have a place in our society /s

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We tried that, it was used by racists to prevent black people from voting. So I'm gonna say no

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m not saying they have to be high or elite requirements. But we have one who is drafting articles of impeachment for Biden’s first day.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

tell me that doesn’t diminish the integrity of the office.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree it's stupid but it was also stupid to try to impeach Trump when the timeline wouldn't even allow the process to finish before 20th.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Both sides are like children playing with fire.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The similarity is there, but this is not the best example, also would be easier to see if the motions were synced up.

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Oh, that's good. @OP's gonna be all

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Indeed, impressive, very nice

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The resemblance would be much better if she did som amphetamine before her speech. That really got him going.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or lost her left nut... Oh wait.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hitler only had one nut?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not about copying every single move down to the exact gesture. It's about copying the mannerism.

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

together with how she talks (audio). Uncanny.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry… It's hard to find decent-resolution video from the late 30s/early-40s. I scanned over like 30 speeches before selecting this one.

5 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 1

Aye you did good, noble human.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Congratulations, you are now on a watch list.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh don't get me wrong, you did great, better than I could. It's not a video quality issue at all either. There is one of him practicing...

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

With a mirror that might work better. Will see if I can find it.

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

As a European, the resemblance is uncanny. This would be all over the front pages if a right wing politician would copy Hitlers gestures.

5 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

As a European, I disagree. It's just a public speaker doing hand gestures passionately. There are a limited number of ways to do it.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

And probably having to exaggerate a bit on account of having her face covered

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Its a very well understood and used technique to get your audiences attention and hold it. Its been around as long as there are speakers

5 years ago | Likes 171 Dislikes 7

If this what they are doing already?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Fun fact: Lady Gaga's "disco stick" (a la LoveGame) was created for this purpose, to capture and hold the audience.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, its like Obamas thumb thing

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

That was Clinton's thing.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

its goverment, not a lil wayne concert. if you need that to keep attention then its not important what you are saying.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 25

You've clearly never been through a public speaking class.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You are wrong on that point, everyone moves their hands when talking to some degree or another. Look at Trump and his speaches

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

wich exactly proves my point

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

They're right. All politicians speaking in Senates/public are.taight to use body language and power/confidence positions. It does..

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Actually work. The power posing is more for the citizen viewer. The points and directions invoke attention when needed and clearly 2/3

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Accentuate points. Talking with hands and body language psychology is an integral part of modern political communication

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

enacting laws is not a magicians stage show. if you need a rain dance to convince people then you have a flawed argument.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Exactly. When Cicero was murdered in 43B.C., he was decapitated and his hands cut off and displayed on the place where he would have his 1)

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

speeches. His hands, because they were just as important as the words he spoke to convey his message. Again, this was in 43... B.C. 2)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The whole Italians speaking with their hands thing is starting to make more and more sense!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As somebody else already pointed out, it's not the movements that are the problem - that is basic rhetoric - but the ideas they share... 3/3

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She's a douche but...hand gestures while speaking makes her a nazi? Thats laughably stupid if thats whats being inferred here.

5 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 11

It's Imgur

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No. Her acting like a fucking Nazi makes her a Nazi.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

No, but it adds another piece to the puzzle.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NO

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I'm sorry but that's absurd.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I don't think that's the case. They're just trying to say she's learned from him. But that's hardly wrong. Hitler was a great speaker and 1/

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

it had nothing to do with his views and actions. Just like learning from him doesn't mean you share those views.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The problem is the person in question.. does share those world views.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Maybe she does, I don't know her. That's not what I was talking about though.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are better speakers to learn from. Copying Hitlers mannerisms, at best, look outdated and exaggerated nowadays. They worked back then

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when technology (audio equipment, etc.) was less capable than today and speakers had to learn to deal with that.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That might be true. I'm just saying that learning a technique of public speaking from a bad person doesn't make you a bad person.
