We've got a lot of work to do, but I want that work to include removing him before we get to 2028. Not even to put him in jail or the revenge factor but simply to remove him as it should have been

All this waffle give me Dej a Vue. I've heard it here in Australia from our right wing, from the left wing from the rudder and the landing gear.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Something I'm not noticing enough democrats (even democrats happy with the results) mentioning is that pro-trans and protecting minorities were big parts of Mamdami's victory (and harsh anti-trans advertising was part of republican losses all over). Support us and we'll show up to support you!

Oh there's definitely a stink associated with rump.

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Pete, you need to run for Something next year, not president, but something to stay active in politics, don't fade away. We need you in the party as a solid smart progressive

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In VA. Spanberger is going to be, at absolute best, a repeat of Northam, who was so utterly useless that the white nationalist Youngkin took their place. When you put middle of the road do-nothings into office people are going to get fed up with them quickly.

Yes, the republicans are openly more and more fascistic, with that said, maybe don't put in a corpse on the other end and screech about "electability" for four more years when worse happens again because D's suppress leftists.

"When you put middle of the road do-nothings into office people are going to get fed up with them quickly."

Exactly this.

Trump and the GOP will retaliate. The greater the retaliation, the greater the desperation. The tide has turned, stay strong y'all.

Fuck Republicans. Every one since Nixon is complicit in setting this country up for our current fascist theocratic oligarchy. They're all just as much of an embarrassment to this country as mango mousolini.

Stupid shit like this.... Found the dumbass republican who STILL can't accept his party is full of eveil motherfuckers who dance at the tune of money. Don't escape goat them with Trump. The party is Trump. Trump is the combination of it all in one individual, that's why he seems so despicable to you and that's why everything he does is backed by the ENTIRE PARTY. The party has been irredeemably rotten for a long time and your country won't save its democracy unless you get rid of it.

Pete wants to take credit, but he is another corporate democrat. I guarentee he wasn't happy about that Mamdani won.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Mamdani has been an outspoken advocate for trans rights and didn't just win the election, but won the majority of votes. Spanberger's republican opponent spent 57% of their ad revenue and anti-trans attack ads and lost. Maybe, Buttigieg, this election should make you reconsider your own transphobic stance.

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

It will make him reconsider, but only because he’s an opportunist who wants the chair, no matter who he has to step on to get it.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If Pete changes his homophobia, it will not be genuine and he will make it appear that he’s grown but it’s still the same Peter.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Don’t say anything! Please let them continue to try to keep in Trump’s graces until after the next election, if only to make it that much easier for the democrats to trounce them in every election cycle. I don’t care if they never figure it out, as long as the democratic voters don’t sit on their laurels like last election. I want them to be nervous that the republicans might get in again, so they better turn up and fucken vote!

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks, McKinsey Pete. Let me know next time you have a consultancy opinion.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

MTG has figured it out. Imagine being later on the curve than the Jewish space lasers lady.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

MTG is actually positioning herself really tactfully for when the trump bubble pops. Repubs basically kicked her out of the party but soon I get the feeling she'll be one of the people running it. This is not me endorsing her, this is a warning lol

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

100% but I'll take it if she is saying the right things.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saying the right things and doing the right things are not the same

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't say they were.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wait. So the dismantling of democracy isn't an issue? FUCK DUDE WAKE THE HELL UP.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Democrats didn't do shit to win the votes. They are a bunch of limp-dicked tow the line cunts. What got people voting is the absolute fucking nightmare that is the state the US politics. People are desperate to not be murdered by masked men with no badges, or starved to death by a piece of shit frog necked mango cunt.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I voted for him even when he withdrew. The only politician worth voting for from Indiana.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 8

So, Pete has won over the gay vote?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yuck

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude, what is with Destiny Wells and Lindsay Haake from Indiana? Not so famous like Pete, but progressives from Indiana. Here check this out https://mobilize.us/s/a9XnDA . Breakfast Meeting next Sunday in Indianapolis. You are not even alone in Indiana.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is more a condemnation of my homestate than an endorsement of Pete.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As long as we allow them to cheat we have to win five times over.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Feels like sometimes

"New Jersey and Virginia have chosen well by electing Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger as their next governors! They are proven leaders who won by focusing on what matters most - how politics and policy can make everyday life better and more affordable." - Pete Buttigeig

I feel like someone is missing.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Like what?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The omission is so egregious it makes my blood boil. These centrists deserve what's coming for them

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

"It was about listening to common people about business needs, and definitely not the fact that Mamdami taking a strong position protecting trans people, immigrants and other minorities while condemning israel! Please vote for me, a moderate corporate democrat who's gay and nice as my primary upsides!"

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Piss off you empty suit, you refused to endorse him.

4 months ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 11

THANK you. Buttigieg is just another cowardly corporate Dem. He's not what this movement needs right now.

4 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 6

It's Mamdani that started it by calling him name 6 years ago.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Notice how he goes "it was about helping working people?" when while that's great, a huge point for this and the other elections last night were strong stances on protecting Trans individuals, immigrants, and other minorities and condemning Israel.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Great, make sure to push away other democrats, hell call them nazis! Alienate every single voter you can because they aren't perfect! This is why we lose.... i know not accepting actual progression sucks..but we have to fucking make some sacrifices for the greater good. This is literally why Trump won, because a ton of lefties couldn't vote for kamala because she wasn't progressive enough.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

kamala lost because she's part of the corporate owned establishment, because she rather reaches out to republicans (who'd never vote for her in the first place) than to progressives. because she'd rather ally with liz cheney than AOC. because she'd rather back a genocide on behest of her donors and throw the trans community under the bus because it polls favourably, than listen to the people. that loss is on her and her team alone, thinking they don't have to offer anything meaningful.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Mamdani just won by almost ten points you stupid fuck. Go hate trans people and jerk off over IDF clips somewhere else.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

We also have Trump because Buttigieg, Warren, and Klobuchar all screwed Bernie over. Bernie would have gotten two terms effortlessly.

4 months ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 4

Ahh. Maybe. Who knows for sure? Bernie would have a lot of work cut out for him in those swing states. I would have liked to see it play out too, but he is great on the ground and in person, but hard to do that as much as was needed. Thus why the Clinton machine was able to steamroll over him. I don’t know, I am not a political strategist.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Thank you! Please keep reminding these fuckers. The current state is their doing too.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would vote for Pete... Just saying

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 11

So, Pete has won over the gays now?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I dunno what the 2028 primary will look like, but Pete will be pushed by every media outlet as the only democratic candidate who can win. Sound familiar?

We cannot let a corporate democrat win the primary, not Pete, not Newscum, not Kamala.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Raise your standards... maybe start by having standards at all.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Why? What about him makes him worth your vote other than being kind of affable? Is it the D next to his name or something tangible?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

They certainly have a lot to teach us. They teach us that opportunists like him are not part of the movement to the left we need.

4 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 6

Mamdani started it by insulting him few years ago.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Same thing Obama did.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Thanks Obama!

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We cannot let this slip, we cannot let Pete white wash himself. He's just a young face on old politics, he's focus tested specifically to trick democrats.

Buttigieg will be the biggest hurdle to a progressive victory in 2028, quote me on it.

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

No, everyone not voting at all because he isn't progressive enough will be the biggest hurdle. Literally leftist will let a Trump win just because someone like Pete isn't progressive enough, and you shouting this fucking bullshit just for upvotes so everyone sees you as super progressive is hurting our cause. I love your idealism but sometimes you to make sacrifices like electing a super left leaning candidate that is not perfect...

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Listen up, no candidate is entitled to the votes of the masses. They have to offer things to voters in order to secure their votes. Mamdani is the perfect example of this.

Running a campaign focused soley on "I'm not Trump" is (and has never been) enough to win.

the moderate position is no longer the winning position. Centrism is no longer a successful strategy. If you continue to put corporate democrats on the ticket we will continue to descend further into fascism. Mamdani proved this.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don’t say ‘our cause’ you coward.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

People like this can be converted. Liberals, while frustrating, are capable of logic and reasoning (unlike conservatives). It's part of the reason why I bother entering the comment section on this website, hopefully my words can reach them.

The most important thing we can do at this point is to show them that Mamdani style politics is the safest way to secure a victory. Once they realize that centrism and bipartisanism is costing them elections, they'll quickly join our side. I hope.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I agree with you for the most part. The issue is that people like this are not even trying to self reflect. Harris bombed. Instead of understanding why she and the establishment Dems lost they point fingers at the left. They can get on board or get shouted down because I don’t intend to get dragged down with their doomed politics.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

We would have had Bernie if you hadn't endorsed Warren or Biden. If you and Klobuchar hadn't been opportunists, Trump would have lost.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Its great we won big last night. The less I hear from you, Klobuchar, and Warren the rest of my life, the better.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Yess man yes! These centrists are demons man, they are directly responsible for Trump. But there's so much team sports in politics, you can't say it in any left leaning space without being mobbed and branded a maga.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s not over. There are run-offs and other elections. Don’t stop pushing for change. Keep getting out to vote, remind your friends, it only changes if we keep pushing for progress.

4 months ago | Likes 270 Dislikes 3

Even if we get a democrat back in office, we cannot afford to relax, the Republicans are going to be outside waiting for the next opportunity to strike; and they won't make the mistake of electing an old dementia ridden fart. The next Republican president will be young and intelligent.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This. Never stop. Take the win, yes - it's good for morale - but KEEP GOING. One battle is not the war, and we are in this for the long haul.

We can celebrate, but we can't forget that the goal is still out there.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Candidates need to keep these elections relevant too. Social media, tv ads, in-person rally’s. Keep the voters engaged.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Also don't think they won't learn from this... They may be evil but they are also very dirty in how they can handle defeat. They will do everything in their power to prevent next year from looking like last night did.

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Off year election voters are the most politically engaged. Now need to translate this energy to reach the people who aren’t scrolling politics posts 24/7

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I honestly haven’t been this engaged in the past. But shit has gotten very real for a lot of people in a myriad of ways. Hopefully we’ll see more engagement across the board. But it won’t be easy.

I think we’re all beginning to learn that “if you don’t do politics, politics will do you”. Especially in this new age of social media and information sharing.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We have to win every single time. They only need to win once.

4 months ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

No choice , still gotta do it. But also he's gotta be lucky every day, we only gotta be lucky once

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They already did…win once.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Technically twice?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe stop pushing right to get voters that will never vote for you, Pete. Maybe instead focus on leftists that actually want to vote for you, Pete. Maybe that is a smarter idea, Pete. The right wing voter might come around if you focus on progressive policies that make their lives better instead of centrisms, Pete.

4 months ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 4

While I would love to agree with you, the data just doesn't support it. I'd very much like to see us move further left on a vast majority of fronts, but according to poll and voting data it's going to be a marathon, not a race, and a walking one at that.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The data in 2016 and 2020 turned out to not align with results. The data in 2024 DID align with the results, but Harris’s campaign ignored it while she pushed right.

Data shows pushing “center” (pushing right since liberals are already in the center) has led to Democrats Losing > Barely Winning > Losing Bigger in the presidential races. Should we try it again a 4th time?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Reminder to everyone who still likes Pete, he worked for McKinsey when he was 24.

Also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMmoB2WMMlo

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do not disparage Pete. He is a treasure and his brand of tism is usually correct.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Pete? The guy who helped inflate bread prices in Canada? The living embodiment of the word “neoliberal”?

Yeah, treasure is not a word that should be used to describe him in any form of the word.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a binary system and you seem young.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

Sure, but Democrats trying to get votes from the right while ignoring their own party has resulted in Loss > Barely Won > Bigger Loss in the presidential runs. Maybe we try it a fourth time and see how it works?

Harris brought out Liz Cheney and talked about Small Business loans. Maybe she should have talked about stock options and concede to illegal immigration lies more?

The parties currently are Ultra Right and Diet Right

For the record, I’ve been voting every election since W’s 2nd term.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s going to stay a binary system because you gave up on a system that works for e everyone.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There’s nothing wrong with being young and bi.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

YOU DO YOU ALL THE WAY

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know if America is ready for a gay president but I really hope Pete continues his positive trajectory. He seems like such a good human. He's smart, caring, has empathy.

4 months ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 16

He's outspokenly transphobic

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

"Seems" doing a lot of work there. Never celeb-worship politicians.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's not celebrity worship and seems is a common qualifier for me these days.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eh. He's got a lot of rich donor baggage. The whole South Bend racist police issue and his firing of their black police chief.

4 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

I don't think you can build support and create alliances in a place with hundreds of millions of people without some baggage.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Bernie did it. People like Buttigieg, Warren, and Klobuchar screwed him over.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

But Bernie didn't do it, or we would have had a President Sanders. You aren't wrong that he was screwed over, but that goes back to having to creating alliances. To quote Gregory House "Almost dying changes nothing; dying changes everything".

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Bernie was up against the entire DNC. He did try to make deals. Its just the people he was trying to make deals with were opportunistic and unscrupulous, and didn't want an honest arrangement. He only had a chance of winning if the rest of the Dem primary numbers were split. They solved that problem. It also hurts that Obama was making calls to other campaigns ahead of Super Tuesday after Bernie's four state win streak, asking them to drop out to rally behind Biden to stop Bernie.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Also enough with the purity tests. We can disagree on some shit and still stand together on most things.

Having said that though, I was really disappointed in him in a podcast interview I heard yesterday where he refused to endorse Mamdani. When will they listen to us that the status quo is dead and buried, and that we’re tired of nibbling around the edges of progress?
Grow some balls, take big swings. Last time we did we got the first black president.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

“Purity tests” is liberal speak for “you have to vote for the GOOD racists”.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I'll say about him what I've said about Newsom:
Don't ignore 'good' in pursuit of 'perfect', but don't stop at 'good'; start working on 'better'. Perfection may be an unattainable fantasy, but we should get as close to it as we humanly can.

If Buttigieg (or Newsom) has a shot at getting in where others don't, then we'll take it - but once we do, we start looking for the next step. We either convince them to be better, or replace them with someone who is.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

They’re not perfect, sure, but also, they aren’t good. They’re not even good enough. Stop trying to make us comply in advance with bullshit.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. Exactly this.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The win of socialist democrats was the cost of living and the policies of Netenjahu. Why u are not talking about it Pete? You talked with Trevor Noah so much about any shit but not about the genocide in Israel and Palestine. You are not a bulli, what I respect but u are moderate centralist Democrat Pete.

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 17

Protecting minorities (transgender people and immigrants specifically) as well, another point centrist democrats don't want to acknowledge

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only after Stonewall, and after migrants were a significant groups which were a safe blue vote. Democratic centrist gave a shit about LGBQT+ people before it was a safe blue vote. Progressive were the first politicians who helped them, Milk was progressive himself, changing slowly the dem party. Same game by migrants, centrist thought migrants were a safe vote, ignored their interests and Trump got 2/3 of hispanic voters.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your "stfu" comment at someone criticizing Pete has people thinking you're pro-Buttigeg.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why? Why should Dems get a pass on Israel? Pete here is a pathetic coward afraid to take a stance on anything besides trans people in sports. Do you really need guys like that on your team?

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Pete isn't on my team. I'm just not some idiot neolib that thinks because he's not pure evil, he's looking out for me. The neolibs like him took until Biden to even start talking about the min wage. They sure didn't talk about that long.
