You use heart of darkness a bit fast and loosely

Valhalla Rising is the definition of a diamond in the rough

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

I couldn't finish the Snowtown Murders.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whenever I see these posts, I never watch the films, but I always read the plot summary.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Me, too. I've yet to be able to bring myself to watch them. (Except for The Exorcist) The descriptions turn my stomach well enough...

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Needs Gummo and Eraserhead.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have you been diagnosed with clinical depression?

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

the "exorcist" you say, never heard of it...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Deadgirl is so messed up, it's basically necro-porn with some zombie torture thrown in.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

agreed. i watched it like a year or 2 ago and basically they fuck a zombie for all of the movie except the last 10 min. Dey dead.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A collection of movies with run-ons for descriptions!

10 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 5

These were all just copied directly from a recent AskReddit post. That would probably explain it

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seriously, say "heart of darkness" one more time.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My curiosity goes only as far as reading the plot and spoiling myself on Wikipedia. I'm not really into torture porn.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Valhalla Rising was one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Finally Snowtown is on one of these lists!

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That movie was so intense, I hid in the bathroom during some of the scenes. Every single actor in that film should have won an Oscar.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Its nice to know other people appreciated it.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That title is giving me seizures.

10 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 4

Happiness is such a fucked up movie

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've seen none of these and I think I'll keep it that way

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Deadgirl was boring, i cannot recommend it

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Very much so. Never thought watching kids fuck a corpse would make me feel absolutely nothing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolute drivel. "Let's peer pressure this jock into face fucking a zombie". How incredibly believable.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Kill List was bad. Very bad. Save yourself the trouble.

It's an arthouse film, gotta learn to do subtext to get the ending. The film is indoctrination into some form of cult, possibly as a messiah

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where is Jessica Hyde?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why? Spoilers?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I liked Kill List, personally.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it was hilarious.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so are they "most" shocking and disturbing? ever made? or what

10 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

I always recommend requiem for a dream, it is pretty full on, but a very good watch.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No watch the transformers movie series. That shit is fucked up. Shockingly the same and disturbingly bull shit movies.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't waste your time with Valhalla Rising.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Good...wierd...but not too disturbing except for the foot thing

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess the genital mutilation got to me a little bit.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yea...then there's that

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've only watched the first few minutes, deciding it wasn't a film I'd enjoy quite quickly. Is it worth another attempt?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's extremely dense, 90% of it is more or less symbolism and metaphors, and none of it is pleasant. It's both confusing and very affecting.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2) I thought it was good, mainly for powerful imagery, but many disagree. It's not an easy film in any case.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Needs "Marley and Me" that movie is fucked!

Bridge to Terabithia and My Girl messed me up

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That was one of the first movies me and my whole family went to together... then there was the pool scene.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Have not watched it, don't like feels much so I don't plan to... what's the pool scene?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, no, there's a movie I saw that no one ever talks about. It should be here. It's called Offspring. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1262413/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

oh good goddamn. i was on the floor hugging my knees sobbing after that shit. wife came home and found me, thought my parents died.

I think it would have helped if I didn't watch it thinking it was going to be a comedy.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are NOTHING compared to A Siberian Film or Salò: 120 Days of Sodom.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Serbian film is a really awesome movie, very well made, good acting... Has a lot of awful things but is very watchable.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Salo is by far the worst imo, because it actually is relatively true.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Siberian? Serbian.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sometimes everybody's forced to eat a little poo by fascist libertines now and then

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Serbian is over the top to the point of being predictable. Salo is like if Ponty Python tried to make a disturbing film.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Men Behind The Sun? Salo? Irreversible? Martyrs? The Girl Next Door? The Poughkeepsie Tapes?

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Cannibal holocaust?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Irreversible was disturbing basically because of one scene

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Two scenes, really. The sex club scene and the rape.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll agree on Poughkeepsie, that movie scared the shit back into me. Didn't care for Martyrs though.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought Martyrs was a solid movie. Not disturbing but overall solid

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It is more shocking and disturbing than many on this list though. They were just the ones that popped into my head.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

See, I didn't find it shocking or disturbing. The last half of the movie is just literally mindless violence that goes on WAY too long.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the first one's premise is more like "discover a girl who cannot die, so of course they decide to fuck her...."

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Man, I really hated that movie.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it was a 1 time watch for me too. mostly i found it funny how awful it was.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And then the cut a hole in her, also to fuck.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So many horror movies = "How elaborately can we rape this girl". Gets mad boring. Like yeah, it makes me feel gross, but so does bread mold.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"but duuuude, it's a commentary on society's inner violen-blalbhabllbla"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll save you all sometime. Valhalla Rising is the second biggest piece of shit ever made, after Only God Forgives. Drive is the shit though

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 10

I disagree, not the kinda movie i wanna watch every day, but good in a different kinda way.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I couldn't agree more. I just watched Valhalla Rising two nights ago.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Going from Drive to Only God Forgives was such a god damn disappointment.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I enjoyed it. Had some depth to it, and didn't need to spell out every tiny detail to tell the story. *shrug* I've watched it twice.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You're confusing depth with 'attempting to look deep'. You've wasted 200 minutes of your life. *shrug* I looked it up.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Aw. That was like the only one I actually was kind of intrigued by.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

if you are happy with no real dialogue and 'trippy' kinda surreal directing it's actually ok, I enjoyed it.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was really drunk when I watched it and didn't get the end. Were they supposed to have ended up in North America or something?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, that was implied. Could be left o many different interpretations however. What if they were in the afterlife already (a sort of limbo).

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yep sure were

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seriously awful. A waste of time. It blows my mind some people actually enjoy that garbage.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Valhalla Rising was amazing, what are you talking about? It's a really deep movie with a crazy amount of silent storytelling.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Same here. Loved Valhalla Rising.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I agree, it's a good movie. Probably not enough explosions or explanation of every single minor plot point for the idiot crowd today.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Did that opinion come stitched into the lining of your fedora along with a list of other shit movies to pretend to understand? Dildo.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

That's some serious butthurt you have going on there. You might want to go put a creme on it or something.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No quicker way to discern a neckbeard than the immediate use of 'Butthurt'. And why does everyone assume I'm angry when I type this stuff?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Wow, you'll need some liquid nitrogen to cool off that hot head of yours. Valhalla Rising was a really good movie. Ending was fantastic.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Also, love that you read my other comment then made the crack about me being mad. That's like 5 levels of clever.... This is sarcasm btw.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ending was garbage. Movie was garbage. Fans of it are, you guessed it, garbage. Only redeeming quality was Mads Mikkelsens character design.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

a number of these are pretty tame.

10 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 2

Most of these movies just plain suck. Deadgirl, Val. rising, exorcist. Those are the only ones I've seen from the list though.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I just finished watching Exorcist for the first time, and it wasn't disturbing at all; I was rather disappointed with it.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I saw it for the first time 15 years ago when I was a kid, never understood why that film was so praised.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I kept expecting things to happen, and it was so slow getting into the story

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's dated, and in a way has eclipsed itself. The tropes are so over-used now that seeing the trope-maker is underwhelming. Context is key.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Happiness is pretty fucked up, but only for one of the story lines in it. The one pictured, that guy is molesting his son's friends.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate watching disturbing movies but I watched Valhalla Rising and wasn't too creep out by it. It was just weird.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Pretty good film for a single view though. Probably won't ever watch it again, but I thought Mads Mikkelsen was fantastic.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yeah he did a good job. I think I would have liked the movie more if I was expecting a serious film. I was hoping for Hollywood action style

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

loved the chain around the neck and running full tilt

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Three or four hours of my life I am never going to get back. I never got the point of it.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I read the wikipedia page after I watched it. Helped a little bit.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I might have to do that, but alas, I don't know that it will diminish my hate for that movie. And I love Mads, too. Just not in this movie.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I suppose these guys haven't seen a siberian film or dafu love..

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A Serbian film? it was all shock value after one or two shocker scenes I was like meh

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I thought it was totally disturbing, left me feeling empty afterwards. Baby-fucking and a father fucking his young son is pretty fucked up.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe I'm a sociopath, but I got over it rather quick.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha, I didn't dwell on it very long but yeah it made me feel uneasy and I'll never watch it again.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People tend to build up a temporary resistance to shocks like that once they've encountered a few in rapid succession. It's why some >

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Deadgirl is pretty fucked up though

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Terribly acted, completely ridiculous portrayal of how anyone would act in that situation, not at all disturbing. I thought it sucked.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah but like there was no reason for anything ,stuff just happened then it ended with her escaping...like wut

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 11

yay spoilers.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

I don't remember how I found it, but, yeah super fucked. But it was good at the same time.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've read & watched a lot in the horror genre--that's one of the very few I turned off w/o finishing. Still makes me feel physically ill.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only one I've seen in the list. Definitely fucked up

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I kinda can't get over films where seemingly average teen/young men are all happily jumping on the rape train, no matter how brutal.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

"Happily jumping on the rape train" +1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Girl Next Store is another one, like just WTF.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would suggest "A Serbian Film"... but no one should watch that movie *shudders*

10 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 15

I remember seeing that on a list here last year.. I shouldn't have been curious

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

its been on every single list ever for the last 2 years i think most people know by now

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah, I'll say that for this one, it isn't a list of films I've already seen and it isn't a list of films that are on every list ever posted

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Having seen that.. I agree

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I've heard it is bad. Why even watch?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's overly gory & pornographic and has a shit storyline.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What I don't get is how at no point during the writing, filming, or editing did anyone in control say "You know what, maybe we shouldn't"

10 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure the whole reason they made the film was because they shouldn't have.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Maybe it was opposite day.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Watch the interview the director gave, about government censorship. The movie was just a big Fuck you.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Can we please stop talking about that damn movie.

10 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 8

If I read another goddamn list with serbian film and cannibal holocaust I will be mildly perturbed and write an upset comment.

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

To be fair, some of the comedy/parody reviews of cannibal holocaust are amusing. Havent seen anyone manage that with Serb. yet, though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honest to god I am reading the secobd title for the first time ever

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is it illegal to watch or something?

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's banned in a lot of countries.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ugh it should be

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

no it's just a very poorly made film using shock value as a selling point instead of talent and creativity.

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 5

Like every porno ever made ;) think about it

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Porn absolutely requires talent and creativity from the director, most porn sucks ass.

I loved this film. It stayed with me for days, honestly. So disturbing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Came for Tilda Swinton, stayed bc I just had to know how Kevin would turn out. Very intense, great movie.

Read the book first. So much better.

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

Didnt know it was a book!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes! One of my favorite books. It was made into a movie only a couple years ago. You should read it, it's so good!!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You read the book first or you mean I should read the book first? Read or read?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Both. I read it first and you should read it first too! The style of the movie is very different and can't really compare with the book.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It IS very disturbing (in my top 5 favo movies ever), but it's also very well known. I like this list, there's a lot of stuff to discover.
