You can also substitute butter for the oil (melt it first), throw in an egg for a more cake like brownie, or add in some chocolate chips.

My aunt gave me a mug with the recipe on the outside =D

I saved this tutorial a few years go and used to make these all the time. +1

Just tried it. It tastes like those sad little brownie squares that came in the frozen TV dinners you loved when you were a kid. Not bad.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No ice cream in the house so I poked a few holes in it after cooking and poured a little half and half on top. Yummm!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With a recent breakup this will really help

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's what he said.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Shucks... I have all of these ingredients. Now I HAVE to make it. Ugh. Ugh.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

For some reason i thought it said 'Bromine". Not sure why, but it surprised me when there wasn't any bromine

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

did you put the ice cream in the microwave?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hahaha I might as well have

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Instructions unclear, edibles kicking in.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you leave coffee in the mug for a week you get the same result, only that version will probably kill you.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Instruction unclear I burnt down my house

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Tested and works!!! For a 2min brownie it tastes pretty good too.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Misunderstood direction. Consumed three piles of cocaine.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Glad someone else saw this. Cocaine. Cocaine. Heroin. Cocaine. Olives. Vodka. Ice cream. Sounds good to me.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So how do you make a 'mug'?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wasn't gross.... Saved and TBF (to be forgotten).

Had low expectations. I liked it when I didn't think of it as brownie.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

May I ask a question: why the spring water?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure. I used filtered tap water.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cannabis is optional of course.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You better clean that cup yourself! Damn it!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't read the spring water part, and now I have lead poisoning.

10 years ago | Likes 229 Dislikes 3

only if the water came from flint Michigan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ohhhhhh

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is the thing that you call spring water?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

An important liquid in your cars suspension system. You usually find it on the same shelf as headlight fluid!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You drink it during spring break

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So... vodka?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw this several years ago for the first time, I still make one on occasion because of how convenient it is.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Any imgurian bakers know how much gluten free flour I can use for this? Wifey has celiac but would love this.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or throw a fruit pie in the microwave until hot, scoop some ice cream on it and voila! you're fat.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 tbs water, 2 tbs melted butter, tsp vanilla, pinch of salt, 4 tbs sugar, 2 tbs cocoa, 4 tbs flour. Mix wet, add sugar & cocoa, then flour

10 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

Just gonna put this here

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

this

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg, I made this today! I added less sugar though. 4 tablespoons was unnecessary imo.

Just put mine in the microwave, then saw this comment. Remembering for future attempts

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what I'm talking about, butter! I use salted and skip the punch.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Thanks!!

YW. Cooking times vary so much but i cook 2 in fairly thick ceramic mugs for 90 secs in a 1200wt.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The olive oil part of this always bothered me, but after a quick google, olive oil flavor can compliment the chocolate flavor, apparently.

The batter tastes gross but the final product is awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i would use butter

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We use grapeseed oil. Practically no flavour

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

or use melted butter. yay flavor

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Spain we use it for absolutely everything, sweet or not.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

same in portugal

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I use cannabutter and it makes this treat twice as nice

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I once made regular box brownies with olive oil. Would not recommend. I'll be using butter for this one, I think.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As I commented in a separate comment, before noticing this: I prefer to use real butter. You've got a microwave, so just melt it first. :-)

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I use olive oil for nearly everything requiring oil these days. Don't notice the flavor a bit.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I can't taste the difference of any cooked oil.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my sister made brownies with olive oil once and they were disgusting. so I still don't trust it

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

extra light olive oil is great for baking

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nevertheless, for sweets I stick with canola oil.

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I go straight to the butter land o lakes salted and skip the pinch. Use a little more butter than it calls for oil.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

and melt it

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I substitute milk in place of water, add 1 tbsp of cocoa, and add a bit more flower.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Daisies or roses?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Complement (sorry :()

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Huh, for some reason I always thought those two words were interchangeable. Thanks internet stranger!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Use bacon grease.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

This... this might just be genius.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ran out of olive oil so I used scalp oil. Flavor slightly different, but more texture. And yes, I did vomit while I was typing this.

10 years ago | Likes 172 Dislikes 3

I CAN TJINK OF THREE TIMES THIS HAS BRRN SAID IN MY LIFE AND I WANT TO VOMIT EVERY TINE

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Lmao! Gross

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Thanks for that.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Barf!!!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For 2nds, right?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can always use coconut oil in its place. It doesn't have a flavor.

10 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 7

There are two kinds of coconut oil. One smells/tastes like coconut, the other smells/tastes like nothing.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

And I was talking about the flavorless/odorless kind.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It has to be refined coconut oil, otherwise it gives food a very tropical taste :)

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Chocolate with coconut tastes good for me. I wonder if it would go well in this recipe then :o!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made weed infused coconut oil and the flavor is absolutely amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Me too!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Weed is tight!!!!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I despise coconut and cannot agree... Coconut oil actually does have a flavor. If used in baking, I taste it ever time. Ewww. *shrugs*

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 7

People who cook eggs in coconut oil are an abomination. Especially if they lie and tell you otherwise.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Refined vs Unrefined

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Everyone tastes things differently, I guess :)

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I know itz truuuuue ;)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I don't know that the 2T of oil in it would affect the taste that much. I am a fan of grape seed oil. No flavor, high smoke point.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Two tablespoons is a ton compared to the size of a brownie

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what I use when I cook steaks on the stove.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cast Iron and steak FTW : )

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its not grape seed, its rapeseed, and since the name is so stupid, its being rebranded as canola oil nowadays

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

It is grapeseed oil. Canola is something else.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Both exist actually. You can buy grapeseed oil on Amazon.
