My dogsitting adventures from last weekend.

Tied up after a long adventure at the park. Cassie (left) really doesn't like being left alone, Daisy (gutter) doesn't care, always looks bored and is clearly tired from running around like a nut.

Back story : Daisy is my parents' dog.
She spent the first 3 years living with a young family. They couldn't deal with the amount of attention she required. She's super smart and has heaps of energy. She kept escaping their house, so they fitted a zapper collar to her. The collar was too tight and she developed a wound that became infected.

Mum's friend works as a vet nurse and knew we were looking for a Labrador after our beloved Kirra had recently passed away at nearly 15yrs. When Daisy's owners brought her to the vet, they were talking about re-homing her. That's when my parents pounced! Daisy got a new and improved home. That was 2 years ago now.

Cassie is my brother's dog.
She spent the first four years as a breeder in a puppy farm type arrangement. She lived in a shed with two other bitches. She'd never been inside a house and had minimal contact with people.
Cassie had multiple failed pregnancies and two emergency caesareans. The owner subsequently put her up for sale.

My brother found the advertisement and drove 4 hours to meet her. She's not smart like Daisy, but is absolutely adorable, friendly and affectionate. Cassie has a very impressive pedigree from many award winning dogs, so the price wasn't cheap. My bro and his girlfriend bought her for $1200.

In the year they've had her she has bonded with them and me like you wouldn't believe. I'm like the favourite uncle.

These two dogs have hit the doggy jackpot and both escaped boring lives by ending up with our family. We have always had a labrador since my Dad got his first one as a teenager. They are cherished members of our family. They go on so many adventures.

Anyway, my parents and brother went away at the same time so I was charged with minding the two pups for 4 days.

On the way home, in the "cozy" Honda City.

Recharging batteries, post walk.

The dogs love my fake grass verandah, in the morning sun.

Coming home to some happy pups.

Pic 6
We went to my friends farm on Saturday night to clear to trees, have a bonfire, drink beers and talk shit.

Pic 7
Obviously I brought the dog beds. Here's Cassie looking adorable, as usual.

Pic 8
The Honda got a bit dirty at the farm. It's so light (700kg) it is hard to get bogged. It loves the mud.

Pic 9
My driveway doesn't love the mud though.

Pic 10
Dropping the dogs back at my brother's place on Monday. He returned home later that day.
Outside furniture is really meant for people, but who can say no when they look this cute.

Pic 11
My bro sent me this pic later that night.

Daisy likes to take the cat bed even though she has a perfectly good dog bed provided for her.

Thank you for adopting!

Those are great dogs! Having never seen a Honda City before, I thought that was an early 90s Ford Festiva.

Do you have a Motocompo for your City?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. Bought the motocompo first. Bought the city while i was waiting for the bike to arrive from Japan. Have since fully restored it.

No one's gonna remark on the "SJW" in the license plate?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This post is not a place for that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no idea what he's talking about.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Negative stuff. This is a happy post. None of what his edginess is talking about needs to be discussed here. Really nice post btw!

You have a cool house

Thanks. It's only small, but i designed it myself. I still need to paint that green fence a better colour. The gates aren't finished either

Nice. The Honda City reminds me of a smaller version of my Honda Fit. Cool to get to see it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Honda Fit is called a Jazz here. The city is the predecessor of the Fit/Jazz. That's why they look alike.
