Super Kid

Kid is awesome.

Happened to one of my nephews. Broke his femur... He's fine now, but man that was terrifying.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's a buckle on the changing table for a reason.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

RKO outa nowhere

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Kid tapped into his dad reflexes early way to go little man

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

monster dad reflexes, right there

Big brother reflexes

He’s got a bright future of cargo shorts and Hawaiian shirts ahead of him.

3 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Some perfect people in the comments section.

3 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 3

I never had any babies but one thing I've learned is that they're always trying to find a way to die

3 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

And they get smarter over time, and more mobile.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This is why we're changing our baby on the floor

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It doesn’t even have any side barriers!!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i've never seen one that does

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Adult was massively negligent in leaving the baby unsupervised in that position.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And then she grabbed that kid for a hug, too. Very sweet.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yes yes record your lives so your tiny normal mistakes become terrible injustices for the internet to punish you forever. 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Don't worry CPS will take your children and put them in the system because clearly that is an unsafe environment for children. 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I find it positive how quick the little guy reacted to catch the baby.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Straight in for the headlock

3 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Former early childhood worker. This is exactly why we had a policy of having 1 hand on the child at all times while on the changing mat.

3 years ago | Likes 319 Dislikes 3

As a parent, this is my policy too, it just makes sense

3 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Or make the entire floor of elastic catch-netting

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I used to change my babies on the floor.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yes. Everytime i see this it pisses me off. Dont turn away from the kid. You never know when they will roll over.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Or a fence around the bed. A mini crib if you will.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Use your telekinesis to place a force field around the table

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Obviously

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Great kid

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Babies and toddlers are all suicidal little maniacs.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I got dropped on my head as a child and I turned out ok...ish.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that a panda?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's why you for one don't put babies on a flat high surface and 2 don't leave a baby unattended

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It doesn't look flat, it looks U-shaped.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry mr pedantic Not my point at all a baby that can roll over on a almost flat surface is idiotic

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our second kid squirmed so much we just changed her on the floor. Lot safer but a lot harder on the back.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Floor...bed...couch...all of it was way easier to manage than doing it on the actual changing table.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Always remove the changing table when they start to roll... can't fall off the floor lol

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

i think most parents drop their babies ONCE. Mine was off the couch onto carpeted floor, but still terrifying.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I just thought of a great invention - Babyfall proofed floors.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please put railings on your changing table or have a preemptive hysterectomy. Your choice.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They definitely get him some treats, he just possibly saved the child from life-altering injuries!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

"but you didn't do anything!"

3 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

And you love me for it

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Yes and that is why I get treats.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

My work here is done, SIR! - Dog

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I also appreciate that parent Immediately reaches out to the older child. Yes, big scary, possibly loud, rxn & you did perfectly, kidlet.

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

The way they back up, you can see the uncertainty while trying to process what was probably just "AAAHHH!" f/ the parent.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Shit sitch, good analysis of All kids

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Older brother from now until forever more “I’ve been saving your ass since before you could even talk”

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Easy to judge when you weren't there. We can't see what's happening out of frame.

3 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 11

Short of being threatened at gunpoint, I can't think of a valid excuse.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 39

Plenty of good reasons. New parents, especially mothers, are often sleep deprived. Could be an honest mistake.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I think you underestimate just how bad sleep deprivation really is.

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 4

As a parent of 2, no I don't

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

Are you a single parent?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The second twin disturbed her. You see their legs and shadow top right at the beginning

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

2 cribs dipshit - easily could have been the other kid getting into something while she's focused on the one on the changing table.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

and they could easily have picked the baby up

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

To some asshole in the peanut gallery, yeah, it's clear. To someone who's likely sleep deprived and tracking 3 kids at once? Fuck you.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

as someone with 3 little kids that maybe gets a couple hours of sleep at a time, it's the number one rule when changing a diaper

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

2 cribs, twins. Other one is out of frame doing God knows. 3 kids (or more), sleep deprived, carrying the 'mental load' for the family.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Did you know small babies wake up about every 2 hrs for months? Every 2hrs. Think what that does to a sleep schedule. 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Add the effect of your body being a mobile milk factory to the mix as well. It's rough. 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

No, as a parent of 2 I did not know that...

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

good catch but absolutely the fault of the mother/childminder

3 years ago | Likes 1057 Dislikes 120

Not really, remember, " life uhh find a way" as fallable humans and not gods we can't keep an eye and our minds on every last thing

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Childminder? Sounds like a telepath for childrens

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We never left ours on a surface like that, but im honestly more shocked it doesn't have rails or something.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially bc i have seen videos like this, Ive never walked away from the changing table, BUT accidents happen so fast ever when you're >

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right there

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not going to blame the other baby that's not in view but the second crib is for that definitely distracted mom from their sibling?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

*parent/childminder

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Man, it happens to the best of us. Looking after a child is unrelenting (let alone 2)

3 years ago | Likes 293 Dislikes 2

Been there, done that. Mine is 9 now.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

While correct, postpartum depression/anxiety is a BIIIIIIIITCH and nobody talks about how much it clouds perception and focus.

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the extremeack of sleep

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My kid was born 7 days into the pandemic and we are geographically isolated, it was MONTHS before either of us were remotely functional.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thankfully our kid didn't fall off the changing table, but we had our own close calls. Parents of young kids need serious help.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You should never turn your back on a kid in that situation. Doesn't matter if your kid has never tried rolling.

3 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 28

This kid obviously rolled before, his movement is very confident

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

I wouldn't turn my back on a kid in any situation. I know about that Children of the Corn shit

3 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They see him rollin', they hatin'

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Well I'm glad your clearly all much better parents than this fellow human.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

Amen

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

I'm surprised of the baby changing table without borders. It would be illegal to sell in France.

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

It's U-shaped, so it kinda does.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems to work for those doctors eh.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All tables I see for sale have borders on the side, but not at the front, as in this here could still have happened.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

German here. We dont have them 'borders' to prevent that. And we are the Master Paragraph overlords. Did I say Master? Thats on me.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Change Table Sans Frontieres

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

just curious, is there a fence around all sides of the table? isn't that difficult to change them in?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The "normal" one in France has 3 borders, no border for the feet. You face the feet, not the side of the baby. Baby head is the closest

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

to the wall and still has a border (not the side of the baby like in this post). Idk about other countries :s

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

interesting, but sounds like a huge pain to change a baby in, thanks for the info!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://www.alfredetcompagnie.com/table-a-langer/44-table-a-langer-blanc.html example in France, obviously not the same in other countries.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I built one myself, with exactly this situation in mind. also easier to change diapers when facing feet.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Might be home made

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

No. All of the changing tables I've seen or had in my house are like that.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

What country are you in?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yea I've never seen one not like the one in the video. US as well

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

USA

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A lot of judgey people without kids on here. Yeah it's a mistake people aren't machines. Babies don't move until they suddenly do 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 0

I've been there, my Son is 9 now. This never happened to me. I am happy nothing happened. But come on, you know babys are unpredictable. 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

If you have 2 (or more), take one out out of the Crib, do the Diapers, put it back, take the next. 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I am generally judgy and don't have kids and I think this definitely goes in the "nobody's perfect" category. Happy nobody got hurt.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

THIS. Its really easy to see that coming in a GIF where that's all that happens. Raise some injury free kids then you can judge. SMH

3 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

I have, my Son is 9 years and the only "Injury" he has/had was/is a nosebleed when he puts his finger in his nose to dig for gold. ^^

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Your kid has never skinned a knee? Gotten a goose egg from running into something? That's very odd. Are they allowed outside?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you call that injury, sure, ofc. Personally I wouldnt call a bruise or a skinned knee an injury though.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow. 9 years. Man I had already been to hospital due to trauma injuries like.. 9 times by that age. And girls are supposed to be less >

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

> destructive or so I heard. 9 years, that's amazing. I managed 2,5 with mine, stuck a pea up her nose which later turned out to be a stone.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

some times with dangerous results. Avoid if you can, save if you can. Focus on the hero kid not pointing the blame finger 2/?

3 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 1

Because I guarantee that mom is worse on herself than you could or *should* be. 3/3

3 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

Word.

3 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

I love that she pulls the kid doing the saving in for a hug at the end

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Wow, without your comment I would have never guessed whose fault it was by blatantly turn away from the infant

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 44

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 8

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

Shooting at anything that moves, ain't we?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Says the pot to the kettle

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

NO U

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Big mistake. That said, good parents do make mistakes and the pressures of caring for infants affect the best of brains.

3 years ago | Likes 676 Dislikes 3

Exactly!

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah but various simple design solutions could avoid this almost every time

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amen.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

also from the two beds it looks like they have twins. That's even worse exhaustion wise

3 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Me pretty much every 5 minutes now that my twins are almost 3.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There can never be enough up votes for this comment.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the toll of exhaustion on the parents.

3 years ago | Likes 166 Dislikes 1

And there's 2 identical cribs, and older kiddo looks too old for the crib, so my first thought was "twins".

3 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

You see the feet of the other twin on top right at the beginning. She turn to handle them, and the second one rolled on the table

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Some side rails on that changing table would absolutely help. Mine has them. Makes all the difference.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yuuuuup. Have a set myself about the age of the infant in the video. It can be exhausting. Them rolling off something is a huge fear.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Wait til they start climbing and can’t get down. Or my 18m just started actively trying to drown herself. Thought it was fun to slide down>

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but that's such a novice mistake. I don't think that is the mother if she has one more child. Or maybe she just didn't learn the lesso

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 36

Tell us you've never had to care for a baby/toddler long term without saying...

3 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

Wow, this wasn't very smart, or funny. I have two kids and I am the one who always changes the diaper.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 12

Which just makes you an asshole, b/c as a parent, you should also understand that these mistakes happen no matter how careful you are.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

This isn't a small mistake though. That is serious risk of injury/death. There's a reason these tables have restraints.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Absolutely, it's serious, but these things happen even to the most careful parents. It's only judgement-worthy if it happens repeatedly.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Dude... I've have been so completely and utterly exhausted from having a sick baby that I was down to minimum function/auto pilot.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I know some people who just flat out don't remember the first year with their kid cos it was so overwhelmingly exhausting.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly! I'm not saying it wasn't irresponsible but like...having been a parent of a kid in diapers... I get it. Mistakes happen.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, i can understand that.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
