I think I done good

My boyfriend's son asked me to make his birthday cake. He wanted marble cake with coconut buttercream. I wanted to surprise him with something awesome though.

Built up four layers with the center cut out, and filled the middle with gold coins. ..

All iced and decorated and his mystery box is ready to go!

Blowing out the candles

He loved it! The excitement when we cut into it and found the coins was incredible, he proclaimed it was the best cake he'd ever had and couldn't wait to tell his friends about it.

I've never spent time around kids, so I'm trying really hard to make these kids like me. Knocking it out of the park this time feels pretty good :-)
