Just came back from a client I was installing a PC for, and while doing so they were all excited about Kimmel being taken off air, saying ,"fuck around and find out", and then even more excited about some sort of memorial program for Charlie Kirk. It was a client, so I quietly let them enjoy their freedom of speech without saying anything (since I like my job), while they enjoyed the freedom of speech of others being taken away.

Midterms are Americas last hope. I don’t say this as hyperbole or to drum up fear. If the Republicans have the house and senate in 2028, Trumps never leaving office. He’ll either just straight up cancel the election, or run for a third term and probably win. If Democrats hold the house, I imagine he’ll still try shenanigans, but ultimately gets defeated because he can’t get it through the house. These are the most important midterms in history.

They haven’t been relevant up to this point because Trump controls both. There are no objections and no hurdles Trump has to jump through to get things passed. He has complete free rein to do as he pleases, and this is why they aren’t currently relevant. If he loses either the house or senate, he losses the free pass ability.

The supreme court keeps siding with dictorship against all lower courts. The media keeps using passive voice and framing things the way trump wants them to so they don't loose FCC licenses. All major corporations are bowing so they can do mergers. And dem leadership are ancient boomers who still think its friendly debate with Reagan and refuse to rise to the occasion.

I've found the best thing you can do if you feel you can do nothing is help each other. Watch out for your neighbors, maybe talk to them about things. Doesn't have to be political, just being neighborly. I've started advertising to Nazis that "i am not like you" because I easily look like I could be on their side. I'm pretty loud and take no shit so I'm definitely going to see trouble. Be safe and keep others safe as best you can if nothing else.
