Something they don't talk about often is craving abuse once you are in a healthy relationship. I love the woman I am with, but like, after years of being abused, I don't really have any autonomy any more, and I sometimes just crave the abuse so I feel less useless than I do. I barely get anything done unless my wife tells me to do it which just makes me feel even worse. The spirit is willing but I don;t THINK to do anything unless told to any more. Being abused would be validating, which is just, the most terrifying thought of how much I was broken. Obviously I am in a better place now, but the damage as been done and I've just, lost my ability to get shit done unprompted which just fuels self loathing. I also dissociate whenever I get too happy, which happens a lot with my partner. Idk, I barely think, let alone about my trauma, but when I do its just, absolutely horrifying the sheer damage to my psyche it has done.
