We have now reached the time of year where the alarm wakes me up before the sun. Ugh. Let's get this bread.

There should be a third path for misunderstanding Nihilism.

Pretty much.

I can't decide for post 1000 if I should do a Star Trek dump, a LOTR dump, or a Desert Mood dump. What do you all want to see?

More like, "I really should play these sometime" and then clicks Skyrim.

Me, whenever there's a flame war or a great controversy within Orthodoxy on the internet.

This has @sisipherr energy.

At that time, a terrible parasite known as Phylloxera was killing Grape vines. Scientists figured out they could graft the Grape vines onto rootstock sourced from wild grapevines and cultivated American Grape varietals from Missouri and Texas, which were resistant to this parasite... which came originally from North America in the first place. Whoops.

This time period is also when we get the so-called "French-American Hybrid" grape varietals, like Chambourcin, Chancellor, and Chardonnel, as another answer to the crisis, but eventually the French (especially the French) decided they weren't "pure" enough so they tore most of them out over there.... they're still an important part of American winemaking, especially East of the Rockies.

This has been your standard mini infodump within one of my posts.

I like the scent of rose and Lavender.

Taking out eyes was a pretty common punishment in Byzantium. They, uh, kinda made it into an art form: one of the ways they did it was sticking your head over a red-hot bronze bowl of vinegar. The fumes would do it.

Also "captain Autism co-morbid with ADHD"

Diocletian memes are so niche, and I absolutely love them. Especially relating to the Diocletian persecution, and this checks both boxes.

Mood.

I know a couple that actually DOES this, and I am so jealous.

Also, their four year old for similar reasons is obsessed with cannons. He once asked me what my favorite type of cannon shot was, the last time I visited.

(This child is my godson, I should mention)

Mood.

And memes. Especially Nonsense memes.

This is, uh, exceedingly specific.

@danat101 should totally do a sexy Ms. Frizzle cosplay. Or, hell, a regular cosplay with all these dresses.

Me, trying to find a new place to live right now.

Poor kid.

This explains so much about England.

At this point I've given up trying to make plans for anything.

Pippin tax!

#4 As an owl aficionado, this is just the message I needed to hear.

1000 could be a magic school bus dump

#3 all paths leads to existancialism

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#31 I can't stop looking at the dress from 'Gets a Bright Idea" (center column, third row from bottom) and seeing the lights and striped, thigh-high boots, making the body very short

#2 third path for misunderstanding nihilism is probably Fight Club

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#2 and the misunderstanding nihilism path leads to Rick and Morty.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I was thinking Fight Club but Rick and Morty works.

Explanation: Since the water levels in Lake Mead have been dropping, a lot of bodies have turned up on the newly exposed shores. Apparently some people have gotten hurt trying to recover some of the remains?

#8 today I booted up the original Portal, finished it that afternoon, absolutely holds up 15 years later

I, for one, welcome more infodumping in posts. I always find them delightful. 🥰

#18 The Byzantines were really fixated on disfiguring and maiming people in general. Blindings, castrations, nose removals were all go tos, but now thinking about people's eyes getting melted by boiling vinegar steam is really freaking me out.

2 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

I’m gonna need a source on this boiling vinegar steam.

It was from Cody's comment beneath the meme

#1 i would like to remind people that Gajin is russian based company , stated in russia , they will tell you that "they will never pass that information of secret documents to russian NSB" but russian law states that all companies have to comply with them and send them all personal data and more , there was huge goverment emails leak reguarding atomic heart and how they have to handle "all data they gather on its users" to russian goverment. >

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so basicly anyone who leaks any documents on WT forums is giving them to russian goverment.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has anyone here met their goals and is satisfied with their life?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#16 As a French at first I was like "What? The French accepted that from now on our wine wouldn't just be "french" and that we basically have to be thankful to the americans for even having wine from then on? That's surprising, a lot of winemakers must be hard pressed to recognize it" and then you said they ripped everything because it wasn't pure and I thought "Ah yes THIS is definitely more like us" lmao

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#2 yeah, but it doesn't really matter

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you had to fall to lose it all.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so I take it you'll be taking the third path to Misunderstanding Rick

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why not combine all 3 options for your 1000th :D

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

@op Sup Cody? I had a chuckle at the Byzantines. I was pickling beets today and when I pulled the lid on my brine, the vapour blinded me. Hurt like the dickens. Then I get this ref after a set down. Just a neat coinicidence.

#12 But it is partially true that horses are fucked up because of human breeding of them. True wild horses (as opposed to feral ones, which wild horses today mostly are) are smaller, sturdier and less prone to a bunch of horse health problems. Still got leg issues, but it's either legs built for speed or legs built sturdily. You don't get both.

2 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

I'm a dog and cat veterinarian. A post doc at ISU used my digital x-ray to prove that wild horses 15000 years ago in North America had coffin bone disease, thus disproving the assumption that it was a result of human management practices

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, wild horses tend to lean more toward donkey features; shorter, sturdier, and possessed of an anger management issue that would shame a Canada Goose

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

In an accident, a slightly sturdier leg may still break nonetheless.

If you were running from a predator and fall or trip, you'd die. So there is no evolutionary pressure to get legs that heal better because over running fast.

There is no benefit for a faster healing leg when you're getting eaten.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We-elllll, that really depends on just how fast the healing really is.

#35 And his other son Chi, and Twitter... Dude has a 5 year old's obsession with the letter X.

2 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

truly one of the most pathetic persons in existence. everything i learn just makes him more and more pathetic, like it would just be sad if he wasnt such an unlikable douche, and general piece of shit.

I just saw 40k. Tau, mechanicus, demon.

Musky seems like he would be the worst kind of Warhammer fan, one who doesn't get the joke.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

As someone who was into it in a big way 8 or 10 years ago - yep. That tallies.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#9 better is all relative. Sure, VHS and DVDs were lower resolution, but they never deleted themselves because the company wanted more money.

That don't work on Disney+ Max Now Flix.

#1 I like to imagine some poor CIA agent just sitting by his computer with the sole job of scanning War Thunder forums for classified shit.

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

While the rest of the class he trained with to join the CIA are top secret field agents assassinating enemy leaders, stealing nuke codes, orchestrating coups, etc.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I take it War Thunder keeps leaking military blueprints?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some rabid fans leak docs regularly because their favorite vehicle stats are wrong or something, the devs begged players to not do that but they're not listening lol.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well the devs never listen to the fans so why should they listen to teh devs xD

#37 Forced rhubarb grows so quickly that you can hear it

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Forced rhubarb: i'm growin' innit

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought forcing rhubarb was a normal thing after it's grown a bit? You put a pot or cover over it same as with celery and asparagus?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has legit been a source of nightmares for me since learning this (I think they mentioned it on Q.I.?).
