I looked after a friend's cat that would want to be near and liked pets but rarely cuddles. Although would very occasionally have a rest on my lap when I was on the couch.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, mine rarely do this. That would be nice. They would rather sleep right next to my face at night or in my crotch or on my legs, which doesn't bode well with night twitches....

I have the same issue. My Vivian is sooooo needy it's rediculous. I cannot even go to the bathroom without her crying for me. As a kid I wanted a cat so loving, but this is getting to be a bit much. Still love her to death, but she is captain needy

Walked into a shelter Dec 2015. We were looking for a kitten. That day 2 came in. Brothers from the same litter. 7-ish weeks old. We obviously couldn't separate them. They were adorable and different in their own ways. We called one "pointy" and one "soft." We unexpectedly lost "soft" Sat Mar 23rd. We love "pointy" but he just doesn't cuddle the way his brother did. The hurt is still raw. Treasure your floofs.

Why is this a problem?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't think it is, but it can be tiresome when the cat has to be in the middle of anything you do. Especially when it means waking you up repeatedly to find the comfiest spot directly on your legs/chest/face lol

My dog used to be a cuddler. He'd crawl on top of me, then flop over into the crook of my arm and pass out. Now I couldn't even bribe him for cuddles. Enjoy the cuddles, don't complain.

If a critter gets in the house, my fat kid just smacks them unconscious and lays on them. His slightly smaller brother smacks them until dead. Both are very clean killers. The smallest, the step brother….well he leaves bloody crime scenes from one room to another.

I live in the country. They are barn cats that showed up for the food and stayed for the spoils. You keep a barn cat indoors. Here's a Karmachameleon who comes and goes. A little love fer the barn kitties.

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

I keep both my ferals indoors, but I get why people with actual, active farms want cats for literal pets control. They do adapt quite well, though. The ex-dominant tom of the colony is currently sleeping in his cat bed by my elbow and hasn't been outside in weeks; we play with him and he's happy inside! Same with my girl!

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Have a “barn cat”. Was dumped as a kitten, no rescue would take her, no one wanted her, was spayed and released. We feed her and vet her and bring her in at night. Have found plenty of dead rodents, mostly eaten, some just dead, and one dead garter snake. Never have seen evidence of bird kills. Did see a hawk get a bird and signs of bird on bird predations, but never from her. We have rough shin hawks, red tail and coopers hawks and barred owls. And crows. The birds are too wary for cats to get

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Plus barred owls, hawks, and coyotes kill cats. Opossums kill kittens and so will raccoons. We have all of them. Don’t dump your kittens and cats in the country, find them homes and fix any cats and dogs you acquire. My bf and I are asthmatic and can’t keep cats in the house and people in the country will feed them because we aren’t monsters like the people who dump them, but we can’t give them all homes.
