It feels like the second video is played backwards.

If there's one thing I learned from Cars, it's that doing it fast means it's gonna be really shitty.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It takes ten years to get a pot hole filled in Pennsylvania

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Coulda used solar freakin' roadways instead

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Crashed my motorcycle with my wife turning onto a road that this was just done to. All the extra gravel had been sucked down to the 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 and there was probably 4-6" of gravel that brought my slow turn to a fast crash.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The footage is sped up but it's still very impressive.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

while is maybe done quick, it will last for about a year or so before it starts falling apart. Those type of roads are a pain to drive on.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How is this a news story? This is how most county roads are maintained all over the us. Road base/tar, gravel, compact it then let 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone else drive on it for about a week, then they come back with a street sweeper and push the extra gravel to the shoulders.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this sped up footage?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

technically it looks like it by a few frames

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I think they've done this before...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this would have taken 45 years in louisiana

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do not trust gravel roads since one time that I ended up in a ditch and my car gained the nickname "cow"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That shit wouldnt last 4 months here in my country

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm just impressed how they can reverse in such long straight lines

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The far side of the road was not rollered!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

race the to pub

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Always wondered how they built roads so fast in SimCity.

Witness me! : Drivers probably

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had to do machinery run time in college. Hated highway construction from the start.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now why the hell do they take 3 weeks to fix the pothole outside my house?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reversing in a straight line, I'm gonna take a guess that there are no women in that crew.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

My eyes like it. Oddly enough extremely satisfying to watch.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AND THEY CAN'T FIX A POTHOLE BY MY HOUSE???

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It'd take 6 weeks to do the same thing in the UK.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You misspelled 'months'

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can we give props to the drivers of those trucks BACKING UP while laying the gravel down?

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Why where they backing up though?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So they aren't putting their tyres on fresh tar

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You don't want the black stuff on the tires.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

'Stralia. Everything is upside down, wrong side of the road, and backwards apparently.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Exactly what I was thinking.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Highway construction moves quickly when you only have to accommodate traffic of 1 car/day and it never rains/snows.

8 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 1

Although it is a bit of a problem when the road starts melting.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or when you get payed after a finished project and not time spent working on it.

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 3

They want more tax dollars to fix the roads, when we all know the problem is the system of government maintained roads.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 17

Oh helllll no, no way. Roads should not fucking belong to companies. They're public roads for a reason

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Do you want toll roads? Cause this is how you get toll roads!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

toll road at every stop light

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

These roads are super shitty BTW. I'm told it's like driving on breakfast cereal that eats your tire tread and falls apart after a year

8 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

They're pretty common in country Australia and surprisingly durable but yes, very rough.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even so if this is in real time it is kinda impressive.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Watch the people in GIF 1 and the truck in GIF 5. It's sped up.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looking at the people I concure. Of course given the speed of most workers where I live I would say it is sped up to 100x. Slow workers here

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If someone could shit a mile a day, would you drive in it?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Nope, but I would admit that it is impressive.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Is it better than the dirt though? Serious question.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've driven on plenty of gravel roads in the US but I'm not sure if they're made the same way. I prefer dirt roads. Less destructive.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The dirt roads here get a lot of corrugations so will be very hard on vehicles.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It also feels skaty as fuck when driving on dirt/gravel.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exaxtly

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How is this a Mad Max version? There aren't any flames or silver spray paint or awesome guitar riffs

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Yes needs more flame guitars to be mad max

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh whew I'm not the only one. I thought I missed something.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's because of trucks? I feel like mad Max is slapped on anything with trucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing it's because it's Australian?
