This is a striped scorpion, common to New Mexico. They sting, but are not the bad boys of the scorpion world. There are many around my property in the warmer season. If this were a Bark Scorpion, it would "glow" a more green color. Bark Scorpions are dangerous and can be deadly. We have them as well.

Finally something to go with my uranium glass collection.

If u put a drop of alcohol on a scorpions head it'll go mad and sting itself to death.

Why would I want to do that?

They taste better cooked in curried butter.

Nothing quite like turning a blacklight on in the middle of the night and watching the glowing shapes on the floor during my time in Arizona

They have really huge, juicy scorpions in AZ!! They're crazy looking. The ones here are small and considerably more harmful.

Arizona's bark scorpions are the same or a close species, if I remember right. the GDH's aren't that bad though, they're just big.

Yes, the same species of bark scorpion. I've gotten stung by a few. Each time the reaction is worse!

That never happened to me. the reaction was the same every time.

You've been stung by an Arizona Bark Scorpion, too?
