If you don't feel ready, wait.

But maybe peruse your spca website to see if any little guy catches your interest. Cat cafes are also a fun way to hang with cats without committing.

It isn’t easy when our fur babies cross the rainbow bridge.

I miss my fuzzy one every day. Her ashes are in a wooden container on my nightstand and every night I wish her a good night and that I miss her.

She was an only cat, didn’t play well with other cats, but I was her human and we had a good long run.

I now have three cats. Love all of them.

You’re ready for a new cat, when you’re ready for a new cat. Give yourself grace. Take your time, find one that suits you and your life.

You're in the queue for the distribution system anyway, may as well hop the line

Same, my heart still isn’t ready but life helpedby having feral kittens born in my yard so I’ve been interacting with them without having to own a cat. I think I’d like to foster kittens for awhile after I get these guys fixed and in a home somewhere because my heart just isn’t ready to commit to an all-new cat when I’m still hurting but I know how much animals affect my mood everyday and how depressed I am with no contact. I’d love to volunteer at a cat shelter but my health prevents it

It is hard, just remember the new kitty is not a replacement. They are an entirely new love just waiting to happen. My kitties are a large part of my world.(even when they are stinkers)

I’m in the same boat. But I definitely think you should get a cat.

Get a Maine Coon. Watch that kitten grow over three and half to four years to be an adult. Listen to the chirps and wrerrrols, as they learn to talk to you. Spend a month teaching them to shit in a toilet and flush afterward. Leash train them and take them for walks while everyone looks at you like you're walking a long tailed bobcat. Never let them outside without direct supervision, as they will kill everything the same size or smaller than they are.

Maine Coon is exactly what I want but I also want to adopt a shelter and you don't find those.
