So... CNN is enablish fascists by... calling them out? The thing you guys have been saying media should do? What exactly DO you people want the media to do, exactly?

It's ALMOST as if you guys are just saying shit to karma-farm from media/politically-illiterate people. ALMOST.

Oh my god

It's almost like half of the country is actively working to destroy democracy. Almost. Almost, right?

6 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At this point he doesn't care, "What are they going to do, charge and arrest me? Get in line"

9 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've been saying this for years. The networks aren't left right or center, they are all $$$$. They've just divided the market.

3 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ok, then why are you posting it here, obviously posting all the heinous shit trump and his cohorts hadn't worked, cable news is pretty much dead, just let it fade away.

11 hours ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 80

They didn't post anything that guy said here... What are you talking about?

4 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That is an oof

7 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is this surprising? Didn’t you hear that CNN is and has been owned for a while now by actual extreme right wing nazis?

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's literally a term for a slave owner's "pet." Samuel L. Jackson plays one in Django Unchained. Maybe y'all didn't know that cause y'all couldn't see fuckin shit out of your masks though...

You interview two people. One says it’s raining, the other says it’s sunny. Your job isn’t to present both sides, your job is to look out the fucking window.

8 hours ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 2

Corporate media like CNN treat both sides like they are equal in validity and call it unbiased. No. It’s biased when you aren’t objective and pretend “we don’t know which side is better.”

8 hours ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Its called false neutrality. They want to be "neutral."

7 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Black man agrees with trump opinion:
Imgur: omg fascist (I totally, an imgur user, knows what that means)

2 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Time to start making shit pies.

I'm pretty sure he got replaced on the FCC board a couple years ago.

If you think this is some recent phenomenon then you're the reason the world has been looking at the US with a mixture of laughter and bewilderment for decades.

7 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This phenomenon is not new, but not called out often enough. In the UK the BBC has perfected this as well. Giving every unhinged person an equal platform is not 'good journalism'.

2 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

100% correct. If the "other side" is completely unhinged from reality, they do not deserve a side by side platform with normal people. CNN has been doing this shit for at least 20 years.

10 hours ago | Likes 216 Dislikes 3

The side by side is helpful though. It's the summarising and tidying up of their words (Trump's especially) after the fact that normalises them. Having them act like cunts live in 4k is alienating for everyone except the MAGA base who probably aren't watching mainstream news anyway

1 hour ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

cable news is infotainment, plain and simple. if you're watching a show with panelists, you're there to be outraged, see other people get outraged or both. these shows have more in common with sports talk radio than they do with actual journalism

7 hours ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

In fact I'd wager that the ESPN panel shows took their inspiration from CNN and Fox.

These are the same people who told Bill Nye "you scientists are bullying us with your facts"
However you feel about Bill Nye, the statement is insane.

Someone please correct me if I'm remembering wrong. I saw it on TV once.

Conservatism is a death cult and a hate group.

Here we are in 2024 while they’re stuck in 1924.

11 hours ago | Likes 280 Dislikes 3

This guy I know said "I want the US to return to the 1950's" And I asked in what way. He said, "In every way"

6 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Stuck implies they may try, have tried, or desire to get out of. They were exactly where they want to be, and they want everyone else to be there too.

11 hours ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

They're not stuck, just us, the dirt-dwelling non-shareholders.

Imgur during election season: CNN is garbage.
Imgur after election: ... and now it's back to being a valid source in arguments again.

Every. Four. Years.

Y'all are the most goldfish memory having mfers on earth. You'll rant about DailyMail not being a valid source, then a post with a DailyMail article taking shots at will be considered truth incarnate.

8 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 22

Or, and this might sound crazy, 'cause you're insane, but CNN has become garbage since a Trump loving pedophile started owning it. They're still better than "We lied so much we caused a terror attack" Fox News, but CNN sucks.

3 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

CNN has been dogshit ever since it got bought by conservatives a couple years ago who immediately started pushing their agenda

4 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

See, this is what we call "dishonesty" and "being a fucking liar."

7 hours ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

CNN is garbage because its panel shows are inflammatory and not informative. Their hosts are useless. Their reporters still do real work and they print retractions when they get things wrong.

7 hours ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

CNN is functioning exactly as designed. It got bought by conservatives a couple years ago

4 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They've thrown softballs at politicians for over forty years. If you're just now noticing it, you're part of the problem.

8 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 16

Given that they got bought by conservatives recently and their reporting and messaging changed drastically, it's not surprising that people are just now souring on it.

4 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He (he is black) was trying to claim that upper-class black people will be voting Kamala Harris and blue-collar working black people will be voting Trump. He was referencing Malcom X. I don't think the issue should be racism per se, but rather the idea that blue-collar workers of ANY race should see Trump as their best option.

Because... he's the worst POSSIBLE thing that could happen to them.

8 hours ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

yea, it was a dumb thing to say on many levels

8 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It isn't even necessarily what he said, its how he said it, and who he is supporting while he says it. He believes that shit.

As a black gay guy...

Here's what I think humanity does. It builds a nice little community, together they solve problems and advance, the community grows because it's nice and others want to be there, they build a solid way to govern fairly and equitably, they advance, they grow too big to stay a tight community but their government is held together by norms of morality, they advance, some people learn they can use the language of morality, to convince the people that want to do awful things, that they'll allow those

2 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People to do awful things and pretend to be the more moral, even though they ALL know they just want to do awful things. The majority of the people being good, don't know how to be violent enough to get them back in line, so the system destabilizes, the bad actors take the system over, things get worse, the good people try to keep doing good despite the bad actors controlling things, things get worse, the bad actors have lost all semblance of morality and care only about creating a world they

2 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can control to allow their bad behavior to run rampant, they fully take over, ohnoitateMYface?!?!111!, the system collapses, people form small groups to survive.... Return to page 1.

2 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Grossly oversimplified of course. But these cycles happen because we haven't found a stable way to govern morally indefinitely. Our systems don't even last very long and depend heavily on bad actors not feeling bold enough to just outright destroy the system of morality.

2 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

False neutrality so they don't get accused of having a bias, even though they already get accused of having a bias, so why fucking bother?

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh, because CNN is a corporate news network and is run by a billionaire, that's why. He wants to appeal to everyone, or some BS.

7 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So what's your solution? Don't show the other side at all? It may have good intentions now, but it sets a ridiculously dangerous precedent for later on down the road

10 hours ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 74

Nobody is owed a platform, dipshit.

8 hours ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

What dangerous precedent were you thinking of?

8 hours ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

...the "other side" is literal ethnonationalist fascism. No, the closest surviving ideology to fucking Nazism doesn't deserve a fucking platform.

8 hours ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Not saying racist shit is a start or are you sooo afraid of that slippery 0.1% slope?

10 hours ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

What if we all just stop being mean to each others? Do you really want to live in such a world? /s

8 hours ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Answer what is the other side of calling someone a house negro?

9 hours ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

How about bring in someone from the other side that can speak about their policies, and not the assclown bigot?

9 hours ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Nah, just don't platform the asscllown bigot in the first place.

8 hours ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The problem is that particular side has no policies and a surfeit of bigots.

Tolerance is not a paradox, it is a peace treaty.

7 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Both are apt metaphors

4 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If they're not interested in telling the truth, you don't invite them for a debate with someone operating in good faith, that's correct.

7 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Not everyone is entitled to having thier views heard on the news. Terrence Howard says 1x1=!1 . We don't have to hear him out, we don't have to consider his point of view.

8 hours ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

A precedent to not showcase bigots? Pretty solid precedent.

10 hours ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

Tolerance paradox

9 hours ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Tolerance isn't a moral precept, it is a peace treaty. If someone says one group of people doesn't deserve to exist or have rights--

7 hours ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

They have broken the peace treaty and are no longer protected by its terms. Everyone else that didn't, still is.
