Oh no they've done far more harm than that.
LanceSackless
Doge did something significant and quantifiable: its killed hundreds of thousands of people around the world by dismantling usaid
Seethreepeeoh
That's only an additional $17000 for every taxpayer. Not even $9 an hour.
HolyFreakingToast
tax the rich. duh.
klausvonlichtenstein
Nah, they killed millions of people worldwide, shut down investigations into Musk, AND violated basically every law we have.
The only reason I’m glad these idiots were all 20-something’s is they will live for a very long time.
And they’ll spend a ton of it in jail.
tidepool
I mean, yes, but also Trump wasn’t supposed to engage in any wars or regime changes and he’s been involved in *checks notes* 9. War is expensive even if it’s just dropping a couple of bombs somewhere in Africa.
pompoikpoik
Do we have any figures on 2025 vs 2024 federal spending ?
CammunistManifesto
That doge dont hunt.

Pretty sad. https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/republicans/debt-dashboard

Your SSNs are now in the hands of some Russians
HuCared
Well, technically that is very untrue. They did a lot of harm, too.

DOGE was a great success! It compromised numerous federal payment, payroll, and citizen databases;
it shut down investigations into Elon Musk's questionable business practices and or horrible safety record;
It killed USAID - an amazing soft power program that helped hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, and generated goodwill for the US - now eliminated without congressional consent;
And it (probably) put in backdoors and security exploits that can be used by any of Elon's friends.
gorgeousninja
Well i never, a multi billionaire working for another billionaire only manages to make things worse for everyone else. Who woulda thought it? That was back when people around the world still held out that the American people might do something about becoming fascists. Seems a long time ago now.
GlenL
That's not true, they also shut down multiple investigations into the criminal activity of Elon Musk
clonedeeznuts
Emerald boy paid for the access and pedo prez was happy to oblige
HeywouldJablowme
Doge did exactly what it was meant to do. It broke the fucking country.
gifworthy
let's give him another $200B for another war in the middle east
overlythinky
Thats not true. They also contributed tho the deaths of at 600,000 people, primarily children, by closing USAID.
FlaskandStein
Boy if Congress was alive to see this
psmith00
aside: i'm certain that Musk's DOGE put back doors in every computing system in the federal government that they touched so he could hack them later. the may not have done all he promised with fixing the budget but he certainly opened a lot of security holes into the systems
RenaissanceFaireMan
Trump sees that number and probably thinks its all (his) tariff money.

It helped Musk shut down investigations into his crimes.
Zephyr86
He shut down the departments that were in his way and dipped
keybladers
I wouldn’t say did jack shit. Definitely destroyed the public service sector that won’t be able to recover for over a decade after this administration
Casually
It also served as cover for Trump to get rid of people and programs he didn't like. It was also short lived enough for Kristi Noem to buy a luxury jet with the excuse it was for prisoner transport.
MyCommentsUsuallyHaveTypos
There are going to be soooo many cases of identity fraud
randomwalrus
Also to kill any and all investigations into Elon, and his companies.
AntaNce
Some AI cuck just handed him a list called 'These things HELP people'. LET'S KILL THEM
TheAnswerWasAlwaysMoreLube
Yeah. It was a consolidation of power. Removing as much as he could from bureaus and public institutions that would be critical towards or non compliant when laws are broken.
