I spent a long time today sitting at my mailbox imagining stepping out into the road to give a surprise hug to a truck or SUV. Lost my job at the beginning of the month, not even two months after disclosing a disability. I still haven't found an attorney that has time on their schedule for reviewing my case. After months of IVF, the wife had a miscarriage before we knew she was pregnant. Last night they admitted her to the hospital for urgent spinal surgery.
I know things could always be worse, but I'm caught wondering if I'm cut out for surviving in this world.

I'm sorry life is tough. Please don't think about surprise vehicle hugs, I don't think one of those would help you or your wife. I hope the surgery went well. Rays of sunshine will poke holes in the clouds soon enough.

United Healthcare kicked her out of the hospital before she got the surgery and now she'll have to go through physical therapy before they'll even consider paying for it.
