@ttwshowtime Here's your (experimental extra) drawing of a "no AI signage as you might see in a dystopian Ridley Scott film starring ALF, in a liquid nitrogen cloud made of feathers"
No! (Russian: Нет!) a 1954 anti-alcohol poster by Viktor Govorkov.
Throughout the existence of the Soviet Union, a number of extensive anti-alcohol campaigns were carried out. The most serious campaigns were those of 1918-1923, 1929, 1958, 1972, and 1985-1990. This poster doesn't fit neatly into one of these major anti-drinking campaigns, and yet is utterly iconic due to its clear, simple message and somewhat risible imagery.
Please, please, no TikTok, especially with those never-sufficiently-to-be-damned artificially generated voices. Ṣiva H. Viṣṇu they make me want to rake my ears off with a fork.
Imgur is full of morons now. I was basically called a pedo and a magat because i like christmas. Fucking kneejerk morons can only comprehend extremes and that is tiktok's doing. It has made people even fucking dumber than before.
@CoinedWatcher Here's your (experimental extra) drawing of a "sign warning no AI, story about in a live breaking-news report with lower third chyron overlay and scrolling news ticker, two-tier lower thirds"
omg you really can't tell its AI? its one of those where they don't even use a prompt to try to pass it as human-made, I hope it was only because its a thumbnail, here it is on full resolution, it should make it much more obvious
I don't mind political posts per se. It's important to be shared so maybe people vote. But I don't live in America nor am I an American citizen so when the political filter isn't working I still see way too many of them.
I think the big issue is that we come on here as an escape and we don't like having to deal with it in our little dopamine bubbles, especially when most of the political posts are biased and hateful.
Yep. People act like it's MAGA Russian bots asking for it but no I'm a progressive who is voting for Harris come November. I'm 100% decided and I try to avoid politics to prevent myself from getting needlessly worked up over something I can't do anymore about. But if they aren't tagged I see them, and if I see them I end up reading them.
I’ve seen lots of comments from people not from the US taking sides. They might not get a vote but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a preferred outcome.
Question: I'm assembling a post exploring the ethics of AI "prompt jockeys" stealing/copying EACH OTHER'S "intellectual property," and asking if that term can even *apply* to AI images. (Essentially, it's Vizzini saying, "You're trying to kidnap what I've rightfully stolen.")
If I include *examples* of the AI images that were copied / infringed, would the post be downvoted for that? (Then again, it might be worth it. I'm doing this for the comments / discussion, not the points.)
Don't hold me to this, but I don't think you'd be downvoted for that. The way I see it 'no AI images' is more about those low-effort posts with a few random vaguely interesting images and no coherent story. If you label them as AI images, and use them to say something interesting, I at least would upvote.
Imagine being so petty that you wouldn't let others enjoy making their own versions of stuff you've put out there. As a matter of fact, where I frequent you have a "Remix" button, but other sites have it too. It instantly loads in everything it took to make the image in question, the model, extensions, prompt, settings, etc, so that you can adjust things as you see fit.
That's precisely the attitude I wanted to question. To sum up, I'm very concerned about the ethical use of AI. That's why I *don't* overproduce, I make only images in a sub-genre that (AFAIK) no *human* artists are producing, and ZERO money changes hands because of my hobby. So it rankles me to see my stuff co-opted by someone who breaks all 3 of those rules, and apparently doesn't give a damn about ethics. (1 of 2)
As (hopefully) a help to D&D DMs, I commission non-Human commoners; fantasy races doing perfectly normal jobs. I also post the *prompts* I used, so the DMs can alter them to fit their game. And along comes somebody who *copies* the prompts, changes 2 or 3 words in each one, runs it through a *paid* AI engine, and CHARGES MONEY for them. Here's my Half-Orc cloth merchant, for free, and his "Remix", for $4. https://imgur.com/OmAB4HO
I say this is for-profit plagiarism. What's *your* take on it?
Pressed enter a bit too fast. Thing is, I think it's fighting a losing battle, really not much to be done. Also, it's likely a very short lived issue, as AI becomes more prolific, just about no one will be able to make money off of it.
The only thing you can really do is see if the site they sell on has a report function, but even the entire concept of "they stole my prompt" is extremely iffy to begin with.
Unless they contain squiggles cause you couldn't be bothered lorem ipsuming. Or are something you made that's sorta similar to something some guy found for sale on some website one time. Or are too weird. Or are in anyway controversial. Or...
If it's something you're not being transparent about being AI or you're claiming it to be yours and/or making profits off of it? Absolutely not. There's the door. But if it's to show its advancements on the medical and other fields or just to make shitposts, things that are already made out of recycled content without permission with no intent to claim as creator or profits from? Go right on ahead. Make all the wizard memes you want.
Oh I’m clear it’s AI art when I post it, and I don’t make money over AI art either, but with the generations I have, I certainly could, for example, put them on T-shirts/posters and make some money because there’s nothing like the art that I’ve had AI make. Really, art is exactly what you make it, whether it is made by hand or made on a computer. The only difference between AI art and fractals, for example, is only the amount of mathematics that produces both. That’s literally it. And…
Fractals ARE considered works of art, even though humans don’t manually create them, and they’re plastered everywhere, no one ever was up In arms about it, nobody should be now like they are with AI. Heck, even Andy Warhol created artwork out of soup can labels, something a company created, and it’s considered art. He didn’t claim to have made the labels, everyone knows that was Campbells. So it doesn’t matter who or what made it as long as the implementation is interesting, just like all art.
There is a difference between drawing a subject and copying. What Warhol did was no different than someone who's looking at a landscape to paint it in their own style. He did not look at other's art. He did not analyze it to see what the common pattern was and decided to follow the same formula because he wanted to make it big and get rich like everyone else. He studied a subject and painted it. What you're saying is ignorant at best and disrepectful at worst. Please take some art classes.
You should try doing actual traditional art by hand for half your life before you make such a claim about AI generators. You would've offended yourself. All AI does is break down preexisting works made by actual artists and copies the pattern it recognizes. If you ask anyone if it's okay to copy something but change it enough so you can't tell what the source is, they'd still tell you it's lazy and inspiration-less. AI isn't art. It's soulless.
Fuck that.. even christas is too much. Be alone chistmas and wanna see some funny memes to cheer you up? No. Enjoy pointless random people faces instead. Go to instagram of facebook idk. I like memes

The only problem I have with halloween selfies is that it starts week before and lasts week after. Christmas selfies are two days, and blocking the tag removes the vast of the posts.
then you need to stop doing what you do for Christmas. that is not even the point of the Santa Claus Corporate Christmas™. If it is such a burden for you, you need to change that day.
If you, let's say, don't have a family to celebrate with on Christmas and sit alone in your tiny overpriced flat with an eggnog, "changing the day" isn't as simple as you make it out to be.

I never said it would be easy, just that if the day is torture for you, don't do it. If you have no family, and sit in your tiny apartment alone with eggnog go to volunteer at a homeless shelter for Christmas dinner, find a therapist and figure out why you are wallowing alone with eggnog. Never promised simple, that's on you, change is often hard, but sticking it out in a rutt, that's on you.
