Hi Imgur, first I want to point out, that I don't make live desicions based on random people on the internet. But I'd like to read things I didn't think about yet.
I am volunteering at an dog rescue in Greece where 700 stray dogs are taken care of. That girl on the picture grew on me and I am thinking about taking her home.
I live in the city and I am working from home, so the dog wouldn't be alone. I haven't have a dog yet. That dog seems to be some kind of Shepard mix and everything I read about that kind of dog is discouraging me a bit.
What are your thoughts?

undoubtedly adopt this dog you legend.
WizardHarryDresden
Do it and then don't post about it looking for a pat on the ass
AliSonJam
Do it only if you know you can handle it. She will need lots of attention and exercise. She’s a smart breed so she needs to stay occupied.

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't know what it means to keep a smart dog occupied and happy. Will have to read more about it.

There’s lots of different teaser toys u can buy. My dog loves them. Or u could also incorporate learning new commands into her daily routine

Could even give agility a go.

Are you ready for the time and financial commitment? Are you able to be the dog's owner for the rest of it's life?
michellong
I had pets all my life but the last 10 years. But a rabbit or Guinea pig isn't a dog. That's why I'm discussing it with myself and others
michellong
Yes, no problem with that. I have a well paid job and live alone. I'd be happy to have a companion
Artebudz
Should be quite easy to train being a shepherd mix. Just make sure you keep both mind and body active. Otherwise, mischief.
michellong
Yeah, that "keep mind... active" part does give me a bit of a headache. I'll have to read more about that part.
scubaphoenix
It's all toys and training, puzzle toys like kongs are great at keeping them entertained

Thank you. All advice is appreciated
