This is my gorgeous dog Metea (pronounced Ma-TI-ya)
We got her as a puppy when I was in 4th grade. We lived in Michigan at the time and her name is native american for "kiss me". Shes 13 now and still loves life
My mom called me this morning while I was working and told me that Metea is missing
My stepfather let her out this morning to go to the bathroom and didn't put her collar on. He left her unsupervised and when he went to let her back in she was gone. That was at 6:30 this morning. We've searched all day for her. Walked the neighborhood, drove around, called local shelters and vets offices, put up posters, posted on facebook etc... We live in Shepherdsville, Ky on N Preston Hwy its a busy hwy and we expected to find she had been hit by a car but haven't found any sign of her
I don't know how to handle losing her like this
She's getting up there in years. I was prepared to have to get her put down or find she had passed away one day. I'm not prepared for this. I don't know if she's dead, or injured and can't come home, if someone picked her up, or worst case someone stole her to be a bait dog for a dog fight training or something equally awful. I can't bear the thought of her being scared and alone and wondering why we aren't there to save her. Sorry for all the feels. I've been a lurker for a long time and enjoyed a lot of laughs with you all. I was browsing to try and take my mind off the situation and thought I would make this post and see if maybe by some miracle one of you has seen her. I'll keep you all posted if we do find her. Enjoy late night imgur!

Check local shelters and posting flyers can do a lot. It is very possible she is still in the neighborhood and someone nearby took her in.
