Who is footage somebody posted of a drone flying up to a wasp nest and then you see all these wasp buzzing around it until a couple get hit by the rotors and chop the pieces and then they just swarmed the rotor and it drops out of the sky
This seems every dramatic, and leaves a big black Scorch mark on your white building. Seems like with exactly the same equipment, you could douse the nest with a quart of wasp killer.
maybe i just havent had a run-in with a wasp in a while so i've mellowed out a bit, cause i fuckin hate wasps, but that does seem cruel. like imagine aliens just put your whole city to the torch
Guy with a pesticide ticket here. Those pesticide classes are not particularly quick unless you use the artificial ones. The naturally made ones are very slow acting
I'm not against vertical filming, but if the thing you're filming is two things side by side and a fair distance apart, and you choose vertical, I'm going to question all of your life choices
Ok maybe that one would be a bit excessive, and I've cleaned up the aftermath of one in Afghanistan in 2011 because it was in the middle of one of our routes to our main strong point and some Taliban were trying to setup an IED, drone saw. Drone dropped hellfire. The three guys were fed into the pyramid stacked concertina wire like they were passed through a wood chipper. All I was able to find was a foot, everything else was bits and pieces.
tie two adjacent corners of a big sheet to the guard rail and then pull the opposite edge tight against the concrete and then pull it between the nest and the concrete (possibly with a sawing motion). The intention being to dislodge the nest such that it falls into the sheet. I have no idea if this would work.
Well, it's obviously concrete... historically pretty fire retardant. Spraying chemicals, nah. I'd rather see a bit of fire than an introduction of carcinogens directly in an urban center.
PorkChopPanties
Good. Fuck those bastards.
xDarkSolx
This kills the wasps
017renegade
This seems like a good method to set your home on fire...
Vroomvroomba
If the nest is that inaccessible, why fuck with it?
DukePhelan
Just imagine the chaos of a dozen or so of these in a major metropolitan area. Fire of London, eat your heart out.
abczyxttt
It's the movie Independence Day for wasps
LiquidSunshine
Is there another drone filming this?
Klaxun
I certainly hope so. The alternative is unthinkable.
Kazpur81S
Does it also remove orcs?
DaisyfromDownunder
Just a thought ... maybe this can be used to treat Nazis.
folded13
Fire takes a long time to kill. During that time, they're flailing about and causing unnecessary property damage.

Why not spray pesticide instead of burning the building?

I have to admire how unhinged this is. I was not expecting him to eat the wasps

I guess, if you hate fun.
TheUnquietDreams
That's what I thought they were doing at first, then the fucking flamethrower made an appearance.
CambreathdTheSecound
you could, but then your second drone wouldn't get content.. Think of the click....

Is there a second drone for soot removal?

I don't think wasps can program a computer virus, so I think we're fine.
theskullbucket
keep an eye on your soda cans for any wasp-sized pistol shots
SalmonTheWise
When wasps have their own Jeff Goldblum I will start to worry. So far only flies have achieved that.
DrDadJokes
sorry but that thing need to be bigger in Australia

Hey don't you use Jaime like that, the mad king said burn them all, Jaime slew him for that
Type17
Are these an invasive species, which are damaging native populations? Because otherwise, why are they destroying natural pollinators?
BladeTurMoiL
Fuck wasps.
gablestout
Looks like an Asian Hornet nest. Very invasive and yes, they prey on honeybees
Type17
Fair enough, they can F right off

responsible use of the arson-drone
Turboslacker
It's just a matter of time before we see an article about irresponsible use of the arson-drone
TheChunguskaEvent
i can't imagine anyone would use the arson-drone irresponsibly
UdensZirnis
The thermite drones in Ukraine are nice to watch. Probably two hells to experience, but nice to watch.
KingMCG
I would love an arson drone.
I have a lot of uses for one, and some of those uses are probably legal.
isetprettygirlsonfire
You can buy the flamethrower attachment online. Getting the FAA permit isn't easy, I checked into it for entertaining
imakeeper
Pyrethrin powder seems a safer option.

that's not cool though.

Fulustreka
People nowadays use the mobile phones to record videos to be watched on mobile phones.
tempestfoxthree
You can rotate your phone 90 degrees and record landscape.
Fulustreka
Just on some platforms.
ExTechOp
I am fairly certain this video was not recorded by a human on a mobile phone.
Type17
You know you can turn your phone to landscape when watching a video, right? (and If the app won’t allow it, then it’s a POS)
Fulustreka
Yes, I do, it can be done in YouTube, for example. But it's not possible on Instagram and some people make videos only to upload there.
inigo93
Nest is still there when the video ends... I'm not convinced.

bolobass
Only on the outside...
MeowWoof
What would put the fire out?
bolobass
Sprinklers, Wasp firefighters, the heat-death of the universe, wasp engineering is crafty.
LongCommentChainAppreciator
Are wasp nests of this size thermally insulated to the point the wasps on the inside aren't cooked? I have my doubts :p
astrangehop
Very likely yes
BirdPersonXLII
Yeah but at least they left giant scorch marks all over the place.
lookatmycomment
They won't be able to afford the insurance and will soon be evicted

FleaTron
Wasps serve no purpose, much like mosquitos. They eat the pollinators. Fuck it, burn them.
WhatUpDog3000
I thought they pollinated as well, no?
Aurentis
They do. Without wasps we'd have a big problem.

I feel like there was a convergence of, "hey I got this new drone with a flame thrower attachment!"
"That's funny cause I was just trying to figure out how to deal with this huge wasp nest!"
dogmatix
The eviction notice had been ignored.
WisconsinPlatt
When the only tool you have is a hammer...
DarkTower9779
They could've taken off and nuked the site from orbit, to be sure.
TheUnstoppableWampas
If this was a method that was available, would you pick any other?
dishonor
I would send at least 2 drones. Wasps only respond to displays of power
Omicron416

Oh, it might work, but you’re going to be dealing with some angry hornets.
labyrinthconvention
If the damn drone can spray napalm it can damn well spray insecticide and not light f****** structures on fire
RicheTheBuddha
Where's the fun in that?
recordmanjohn
I would think this method is more environmentally friendly unless you burn the whole structure down
FleaTron
Well, it's obviously concrete... historically pretty fire retardant. Spraying chemicals, nah. I'd rather see a bit of fire than an introduction of carcinogens directly in an urban center.

SalmonTheWise
Anti aircraft gun, 88 millimetres.
FoamingToad
Wouldn't the wasps be a little tricky to target?
SalmonTheWise
Aim for the nest, it's not wasp removal, it's nest removal.
