(all kidding aside, Lloyd/Twilight's dishes are a reminder that I need to continue to work to improve my own culinary skills... there's always more to learn...)
Well that's a right winger issue if they're trying to twist one family's joy to destroy other familys' joy. It's not a Spy X Family issue for promoting one specific family's joy. Spy X is cool. I love it.
I support family joy in general without celebrating and listing every single example of it.
You didn't say you were putting down Spy X .. but you also didn't say you were supporting Spy X, so I thought I'd clarify my own support although no one asked. Cheers.
Nah, I don't like "Prussia Empire" Worlds. Everybody is in this military mode and totally nuts about their own nations. The people are proud to be good soldiers, about their military insignias and have terrible ideals. To tell stories in a fantasy world with fantasy countries is a way to forget the war crimes of the Japanese army.
I'm not getting your connection to Spy X. Apologies. Can you make the connection a little more obvious please?
Westalis and Ostania, are direct parallels to West Germany, Federal Republic of Germany and East Germany, German Democratic Republic. There's no obvious relationship to Prussia which was from 1700s to 1947. So please help me understand the point you're making because I want to make sure I learn as much as possible.
Also, I don't get your connection to real atrocities of Japan's past.
Sure, no prob. I am talking about Prussia in the time around the first World war. The hole society was militarized. The schools had military discipline, the workplaces, the households, every corner of the society was based on Prussian virtues. You had to do everything what the one with the higher rang (Teacher, boss, husband etc.) said to you. Showing such societies without criticizing them is problematic.
Westalis & Ostania, the cities in Spy X, are not based in "Prussian values" specifically.
Throughout history rigid (military?) fam structures were in almost every country, left or right, at times.
You can parallel indigenous American tribes, or (my ancestors) African ones, or Chinese ones or Revolutionary (incl militia) USA families. Or 70s Soviet a friend of mine might say.
The family is Japanese so you went there but saying it's whitewashing is a stretch IMO. It's possibly a tad racist. :-(

Spy X Family is often online used from right wingers as an example of a "normal" family, Man, Woman Child.
