Millennials saw 3000 people die on tv one day. There’s a large amount of millennials that won’t feel anything and have the 1000 yard stare when it comes to a video like what happened. Everyone is assuming it was Liberal/Left that was the shooter. After taking the wrong guy into custody they claimed they have the right person now. We just don't know the person's affiliation until it's known and their identity is released. We don't even know if the person they have now is the right one. There's not a small chance that it could be a right wing shooter. But one thing is certain, this even will be used by the right for political ends.

I heard the wrong guy is a progressive activist and basically was fucking with authorities saying he did it. The actual shooter is estimated to to have been 100-200 yards away. Not a hard a shot with some train/practice. You are correct that the right will use this to their advantage.

Kirk was a piece of shit and he died spreading the kind of message that killed him. I'd be genuinely fucking surprised if it was even a left wing extremist who shot him and not one of: A right wing nutcase, a generic nutcase looking for attention, or someone who had a loved one like a child murdered and then saw one of his speeches saying that's okay at the wrong time.

We absolutely shouldn't go down this road, but Republicans have made it inevitable. They are pushing more and more people to the edge by the hour, creating people who have nothing to lose. People with nothing to lose are going to go to extreme lengths to try to fix the problem.

Unfortunately, Republicans are likely to respond with violence of their own. Republican politicians are the only ones who can end this.

Massive unconstitutional even the current Supreme Court would oppose it, they'd have to figure something else out. Like tying gun ownership to current efforts to implement Internet ID and your past social media comments the same way they've been denying anti-Trump foreign nationals. Denying guns to political activists that have ever been arrested, but on a case by case basis to let their political allies go free. Stuff like that...
