Obviously it’s not my post, I just wanted to get the story read a little more. I remember when it was posted, and it’s just as powerful now to me as it was then.
Edit: holy fuck boys, most viral. Honestly, I’m just happy that so many people read it. I have plans to find the Reddit user and thank them as well as share how many people found this story powerful.
Be good to each other, the world needs it.

Wait, I'm confused about the story. So the cops knew that internal affairs were setting them up?
TheLilYeti
I knew from the beginning that was going to be the ending.. maybe he could tell the troops they are "doing the right thing"

Oof. That's a heavy hitter. Kudos to the writer for managing to give me an emotional gut-punch. I don't get those often enough.

As a Paramedic I would tell people, "Nobody dies in the back of my unit". It wasn't a lie. They don't die until we get to the hospital, 1/2

2/2 and the doc pronounces them dead.

Doesn’t say. Just says “center mass”. I’m assuming it hit a viral organ or two.

#1: When asked about the scar, he mumbled something about jet fuel and steel beams. I didn't hear exactly what he said but the scar grew.

Had a friend who was a DI for the army. First time he lost a recruit, I held him as he came completely apart. 1/2

His cries of grief still haunt my dreams. It's been 16 years.

I hope you can find peace, my friend. I can’t imagine. I was in the room as both my grandmother and cousin of 24yrs passed from brain cancer

So, in a much, much less-direct way, I can try to hope to comprehend. I feel for you.
SerenePrincess013
We still talk, from time to time. I was his de facto therapist for a few yrs, until he got himself straightened out. 1/2

I never told him how much it hurt to see such a sting man break like tat. No sense in compounding his guilt, ya know?

You’re welcome, I take it you enjoyed the story?

Very much. Reading is a passion. Spelling on a phone...not so much.
