I've been noticing these things in my aquarium. I have no idea what they are. THey kind of stick to the tank and flow around with the water. Are they Hydra larve or something??

What's it taste like?
Imnotimaginary
They usually get transformed with live plants and over populate with over feeding.

Snails!!
Imnotimaginary
That's my first guess. Unless they end up being live babies.
ASquare
My Molly's also don't seem interested in eating them, but they're still new to the tank.
ASquare
Are you sure? I didn't manage to see any little 'bubble' that would resemble an egg. But I have had ONE snail appear in my tank.

Flatworms
ilovebees
Yep, most likely. Clean your tank, OP.
ASquare
Aren't those a salt water creature?
adelaide153
Nope, there are different kinds. They'll mature and look more like worms, build up against the glass. They're hard to get rid of 1/2

You need to get a good bio filter and look into chemical agents safe for what's in your tank but will kill the worms

Its a form of algae. Scrape it off and do a partial water change. How often do you do water changes and how long do the lights stay on?
ASquare
I'm concerned with all the pests but I don't see what kind of pests they are. I just did a water change, My aquarium is new. Water sat for a

month until I finally added lights and fish to it. Just changed a lot of the water, everything was fine in the test but some ammonia.
thatcarguywithaZ32
Just scrape it off and keep up with regular water changes. Don't leave the light on longer than 8 hrs. Cut back on the amount of food too.
ASquare
Why not leave the light on? I turn it off at night. Also yes I cut back on food too. Amazing how overfeeding for 2 days can show symptoms.
thatcarguywithaZ32
Algae thrives off of light. Too much light equals algae growth. Rule of thumb is usually 8 hrs.
