Since the springtime of 2018 there's been a ten-mile stretch of highway which has been under perpetual renovation. People have been getting impatient with the construction and like to speed through there, and I've seen the police catch a few. I can understand the impatience; my parents moved to the other end of that highway last summer so I have to drive through it fairly often now, too. But if speeding's a bad thing it's much worse in construction and the penalties are far more severe (at least in my state) IIRC. Because of that, workzones are one place I definitely won't go more than a few mph over. This particular stretch even has temporary speed-limit signs posted all over the place so there's no argument over how fast people are supposed to go, and it's only ten mph under the normal limit anyway so it's not a big delay unless the workers are stopping traffic (and they usually don't at night or on holiday weekends).

Nonetheless, this is the third person to pass me within this construction zone while I was driving at the speed-limit (or slightly over). The first guy at least did it at night while nobody was working and waited until we hit a passing-zone (though there are also signs up everywhere absolutely prohibiting passing within the workzone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). The second guy also did it at night, but did it while the workers were working really late past midnight (so it was dark and there were people and machines all over the road). This third guy was the first to do it in the daylight while there were other nearby drivers on the road, and did it in a fairly dangerous spot, too, but at least it seemed that the workers had the day off (perhaps for Mother's Day).

I installed the dashcam after the first two incidents. And after somebody in a big, lifted truck came flying around a corner and nearly ran-over my small car from behind in my new residential area (again while I was going the speed-limit, or slightly below because of sharp curves). And after somebody in a big truck ran a stop-sign in my new area and almost ran into me. I highly recommend the use of dashcams because there are so many things which can go wrong while driving, and it's so much easier to settle the aftermath of an incident with video evidence; my camera even turns on if it senses an impact while the car is parked.

My name's Echo and thank you for listening to my rant.

Deer Tax! (Yet another big reason I have a camera.)

Note: The camera's clock wasn't adjusted for summer-time, so the actual local-times in these videos were an hour ahead.
