In 2012 my childhood dog died of a brain tumour. It devastated me and took me years to get past it. These two have shown me how not to forget, but how to move on with life. Walter was the first - he was a surprise from my husband for Christmas 2016. I had pestered him for 10 years to get a dog. After Pepper died I stopped thinking about it so much. I didn't want to "replace" him. But I started to see that wasn't the case and soon was asking again. Walter is 18 months old and was from a kill shelter in Romania. He had a terrible start and has endured so much. Such an old soul with sad eyes

Here Walter is in Romania before he came to the UK.

Walter is good friends with one of our cat Georgie

Walter is such a happy little lad and such a mummy's boy. He loves fields with high grass he can jump through. Walter was the first dog my husband and I had together. He needed me as much as I needed him.

Along came Angus 10 months later. We started to feel like Walter wanted companionship of another dog. He would get so frantic out on walks when we saw another dog and desperately wanted to be near them. Angus towers over his brother Walter and he's no where near done growing yet!

Here he was the first day we brought him home at the end of October - 8 weeks old. Octopus for scale.

Here he is at about 3 months old when his ears just popped up

Angus is a doggo sized pupper - he's currently only 4 months old.

His favourite toy is plastic toy cars and pushes them around the room with one paw. His big ears just melt my heart!

Having the boys has been great - now my son will grow up with the same companionship and friendship I had growing up and that's a lovely feeing as a parent to be able to give. We've had two cats since he was 1, but they are more independent than my lad would like and the dogs have really had a positive influence on his life.

I adore these pair. Look at them - they don't even know how much I love them both. #dogs
