Want. For the entire globe.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't look that big when you drive through it! Though, I guess, neither does a crowd..

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My elementary school had a book of these and it was the most memorizing thing ever.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't know, I think? I do love staring at maps, especially vintage ones. GoogleMaps is my favourite thing ever, I could use it for hours.

Here js a good overview of geologic maps https://www.thoughtco.com/how-to-read-a-geologic-map-1440914

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'll have to chexk that out more I use the USGS stuff for topo maps too, but that looks easier

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's easy to understand and they contain an amazing amount of info. There is some jargon but still very useful. I always DL 1/

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eastern Iowa was missed by the glaciers in the last ice age. We have hills!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a Kansan who has studied geology, we actually have some interesting geological history--The terminal moraines from the last glacial(1/?)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Epoch run across the northern part of Kansas, and it depostited large boulders of sandstone carried all the from north Dakota deposits. (2/?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The flint hills mark the edges of an ancient inland sea for much of the western part of the state, while the surface soil horizons are (3/?)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

fairly even throughout the state formed from glacial loess (i.e. powdered rock from receding glaciers) but in parts you can see where (4/?)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The dust bowl redistributed up to 14 feet of topsoil levels (1930s).

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where can you get these.

5 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 1

Muir way...I ordered a large print and was disappointed to be honest. The online images are much more spectacular. Was not cheap.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bottom left of #1 says "Engraved and printed by the U. S. Geological Survey". Having worked with these maps, they are gorgeous

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Scott Reinhard is the artist on the yellowstone one: https://scottreinhardmaps.com/collections/national-parks/products/1878-yellowstone

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Those are 3D renders made by an artist, can't find the name but I saw him post it on twitter.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like the USGS actually produces and sells the images, couldn't find these exact ones, but maybe: https://store.usgs.gov/product/101495

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They used to make sick silk maps too

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just found them on an image search, I'll see if any of them were attributed to an artist / company / store, but I wouldn't get your hopes up

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1
