But that’s not ONLY what friends are for.
I had to 86 someone who only ever whined about her issues, that were 100% her fault, but she couldn’t see that. She needed therapy (still does) but refused to go (even though her mom offered to pay for it). She expected to dump on us but never listened to our problems and then wondered why we started removing ourselves from her sphere.
So yes, your friends should be there for you, but have some self-awareness about how much you’re dumping on them.
