We should have a separate day to honour female veterans. Including those who fought Harvey Weinstein.

Thank you for your service ma'am. And may I apologise for the narrow minded attitude of the average American. We try to be better every day.

Maybe you're just surrounded by assholes.

What does this mean? Judge what based on appearance?

Happy Veteran's day, thank you for your service.

More context would have been good.
I put a comment.

You don't say why, though. Why do you feel left out of this? Honestly want to know.
Dvicemuse
I'm confused. Are you saying people assume you're not a vet because you're a lady?

As a Canadian it’s Remembrance Day. Lest we forget

Which sprang out of Armistice day, both are better than Veteran's Day.
Nothing’s better. I just recognize these Day for all countries
An example: I was once cussed out by a women for parking in a disabled veteran's parking spot, even though my car has a DV licence.

I'm sorry that happened to you, she's a twat and I want to thank you for your service

While I could get one myself, I chose not to since my body still functions. People judge too harshly, as if only people with leg issues 1/2
Need those spots. People dont understand back, knee and others are not always visible.

I don't think the gene pool would be enriched by the outcome.

Aim center mass.
Not necessarily because youre a woman though, a lot of people don't know that disability isn't always visible. Sorry she was a dumbass tho
It's ok, it was just really embarrassing.
Education needs to improve. At least there's a woman in charge of ...oh wait. Education REALLY needs to improve.

I guess it depends on the person doesnt it? Some vets WANT people to know they're vets. Some dont.

Or when ppl use their vet status to silence civilians opinions. Just b/c someone didn't serve doesn't mean their point is invalid.
Many assume if someone isn't right leaning, there's no way they served. Such a backward ass opinion.
It is. And without taking a survey, you wont find many people serving being very left minded. Many are more central than anything.
More often than not, civilian opinions are uninformed, have no real experience and are extremely biased. Have an opinion, but dont tell 1/2
2/2 those in the military how to do things, or what you think is best for the military.

I’m a Vietnam combat vet with a Purple Heart. Most of my acquaintances don’t know that. I avoid Veterans Day events, too many posers.
Posers?
People who never saw combat, many who never deployed at all, yet they seek recognition as heroes. Most who saw combat stay quite about it.

The worst offenders are people in support or paper pushing jobs.
C'mon. The Rear Rear is important too ????
In my experience the "in-the-rear-with-da-gear squad" are the worst offenders when it comes to being tacti-cool, motards, and braggarts.

I'm sorry but I disagree with this. My brother is coming home not seeing combat, but lost his best friend in an accident while on The boat
(2) is their pain and suffering for this country not valid because they didn't fire a gun?
Losing a brother to a training accident is unfortunate...But not worthy of recognition as a "hero"
