Day 16 is the Paper Nautilus or Argonauta spp. This is a pelagic species of octopus that likes to live relatively close to the ocean surface. Unlike other octopus species the female argonauts can have multiple broods of babies over their lifespan, the males however are not so lucky and only mate once before passing on. The females secrete a paper-like shell -where they get their name- and have been described since ancient times, and again the males got the short end of the deal and were first described in the 19th century.
