They're in his pocket and he's in theirs. Kimbal Musk is family, James Murdoch (one of Rupert's spawn) loves Musk's fascist positions, and the rest won't rock the boat either. If they leave or kick Elon out they tank a large portion of their own wealth. There's no room for principles there and they know executives don't do any real work.
