Our middle schoolers organized a walkout this past week. It was like 20 degrees out and we live in one of the bluest areas you can imagine (JB Pritzker was on our block, like, days before shooting a promo). It was very sweet and no one really necessarily opposed, but they convinced them to protest during 2nd period in the lunchroom instead.
Before you ambush me, I knew nothing about it until 5 mins before. And the superintendent’s (also super blue) daughter was one of the main organizers.

My daughter's school had a walkout. The school tried "We're gonna call your parents" My daughter was armed with "My parents already approved." I told her "call if you need a ride." 900 students walked across town and marched to city hall.
