My husband sent me this while I was still at work. Teddy, in all of his glory, had to look so fitting in the puppy bed surrounded by toys. It's definitely time to toss some old toys. Lol
(Also, Teddy has hypothyroidism and currently on meds. He is losing weight but it is still a struggle. His fur is regowing on his tummy which is great! Need to get him to the grooms though...)

Hyperthyroidism medication can actually be a net negative for most animals, I advise you to look into a hyperthyroidism treatment clinic for dogs, @op. My old cat had HT and I took her to the Feline Hyperthyroidism Treatment Center in my state because the common medication was causing her to lose too much weight. They treated her with radiation therapy, which is a one and done treatment. She's been a lot better after the treatment. It was expensive but worth it.

I feel you so much from this post, lol. My big guy, Duncan, does the same. And he's a little further in his weight loss path but it's still a struggle. tbh, it mostly just gets harder.. But his arthritis is being treated now, so he can PLAY with the toys, not just lay on them!

Mine likes to keep her toys corpses, so I let her keep them as long as they aren't being turn into shreds she will swallow
