I wish i had figured out that being alone was just more peaceful then forcing myself to socialize years ago.
I waisted so much of my life trying to connect with people. I can't think of one long term friendship that has endured. Not in any meaningful way.
A few years ago at a funeral for a highschool "friend" it kinda dawned on me. I looked around and realized not only did i no longer know any of these people i no longer wanted to know them.
And as for current friends? Well i really don't much see the need to continue reaching out and trying to connect. I am tired of the monosyllabal responses and daysand weeks of silence. It's simply a waste of time.
A person only has so much time on this earth and i am not wasting it on one sided friendships anymore.

Why did you hang around with them then?

I'm an introvert and mostly agree. If you find the right ones, you'll know. Them you keep.

Friendship are very enriching for most people, but if you don’t people then it’s only effort. It sounds like you’ve been “friends” with 1/2

the same type of people you are…not enjoying the company of other people very much so nobody makes a sincere, selfless effort.
