After 7 months of WI lawmakers allowing WI to become a hellfire hotspot of Covid infections and refusing to do anything but scream that the mask mandate Gov. Evers put into effect is illegal, they are trying to pass this bullshit. Basically if this passes, if you attend a protest and it breaks out in violence or the authorities deem it a riot, you will be charged with a misdemeanor and/or a felony. This is a direct attack on our 1a (you'd think the 2a nuts would be mad, but no). Wisconsin, we need to do better and vote these asses out.

Bet the name of the bill is something like "anti-baby seal clubbing bill" too.

That’s really alarming. Like “fuck the constitution, I am your tyrant” alarming. Vote. Also:

"Just leave" say people who have clearly never been to a protest.

Does this mean they want to indict Trump for inciting to riot?

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 9

I wish, but WI GOP has only one job: undoing everything the Dem governor does

It means they want to improve Trump opposition concentration skills in summer camps for reeducation.

America was built on violent protest. There was a whole war about it.

I like how, if america had lost that war, everyone involved in starting it would have been executed. Know the risks, choose wisely.

I like how, those same people then made laws that would make the violent overthrow of the government legal in the new country they founded

If the language is “knowingly participate in a riot” then it MIGHT be constitutional. You must know it’s a riot and participate in the riot.

Like once shit starts getting set on fire just go home.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

It'd be interesting to see prosecutors have to PROVE, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the person on trial *knew* that it was a riot.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Look at what I’m wearing! These are CLEARLY not riot clothes.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Beyond a reasonable doubt, anyway. I agree that it should be hard for the prosecution when freedom is on the line.

If the protest you are at becomes a riot you leave. If you stay then you are now a rioter not a protestor.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 23

And if you don’t want your business destroyed, just pack it all up and move as soon as you see a riot start.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Yes...just leave the giant crowd once they start rioting...I'm sure no one ever thought of that...

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

How do you leave if the protest has been kettled?

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

Don't bring facts into this.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

If you’re still there when is has been kettled you were probably a rioter at least half an hour ago

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Spoken like someone who's never been herded into a protest while shopping.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Ah yes, crime by association with an event...the American way...

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Speech is a freedom, rioting is not. Dont push, wont get pushed.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 20

What if I’m just walking with my blm sign & a cop pushes me? Don’t bother responding, your a troll & muted.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It sure is a good thing outside agitators can't POSSIBLY enter a protest, break a few windows, then leave and "alert the cops" of a riot.

ah, yes, the right wingers did it. Tell me why leftist groups continually get penetrated: are they naive or stupid? Hint: Both.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 11

Who said anything about groups? We're talking about protests.

1/2) I'm talking about in the future, my dude. With a law like this, it'll be REALLY easy to shut down any protest you find inconvenient by-

2/2) -just walking into the crowd, setting fire to something, then going home.

Also, what do you expect them to do? Check to make sure everyone has their totally-a-real-thing Antifa Membership Cards™ from Antifa HQ™?

They get penetrated because left-wing movements are both hundreds of times bigger and much more diverse and accepting than right-wing ones.

Like, if a black guy shows up to a KKK rally, people are gonna be fucking suspicious of him.

1/2) The Republicans sure do seem to be doing everything in their power to attack peoples' Constitutional Rights.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 6

2/2) I wonder what the - like - four and a half actual conservatives on Imgur think about that.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

They are loving it because it hurts people they don't like. Conservatives are only pro constitution when they are the victim and when (1l

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Their constitutional rights aren't being violated. When actual rights are violated and it's not against them they not only don't care. (2l

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

But they active cheer. After talking all the big game of standing up to tyranny they actively suck tyranny's dick

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They will stay silent and continue to scream about masks and voter fraud

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

They have already been banned for supporting trump so I guess you’ll never know

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 13

Well you’re here.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Kinda self-defeating comment for an outspoken Trump-supporter - who is not banned - to make, don't you think?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Left or right if your rioting your an asshat & deserve jail time

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

You’re*

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Depends on who gets to define it as a riot. And how easily it can be exploited by agitators or plants to immediately invalidate a protest.
