Literally sent my friend this screenshot a few minutes ago. How can 64GB of RAM somehow cost more that a 5070?

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

DDR4 ain't cheap either now. AI can fuck all the way off.

Yup, fucking collapse already. Fucking plagiarism machines

We're no strangers to RAM
You know the bits, and so do I
A dual channel's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any kinda drive
I just wanna show you what I'm sellin'
Gonna make you take the van

You would soon be all "Why is he touching my special place?" while still wondering where the DDR5 is.

Listen, all I’m sayin is some good old schlong slobbering is not off the table if I means I can upgrade from 16 to 32

I bought myself a new PC the moment I heard OpenAI was causing a RAM shortage that could take years to stabilize. Immediately got deja vu from when my GPU kicked the bucket just as the crypto mining boom happened making it impossible to find graphics cards. I'm not losing out on PC gaming just because tech bros are going to destroy the component market....again.

Don’t be a pussy this seems legit!

I swear to fucking god I'm responsible for this - every time I start to seriously think about building a new computer, _another_ god damn component is suddenly in short supply and 4 times the price it was the week before.

Caveat, they're one gig sticks

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So you just need a motherboard with 128 dual channel slots for a total of 256. While we are at it I also want a Voodoo 5 6000 video card.

"psst, you wanna get RAM'med?"

3 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Saw this before during the GPU shortage when everyone was hiking prices, said "GPU's at MSRP."

Don't tease me this way.. I need DDR5

My rig's not even compatible :C

3 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

The rest of the rig's free (comparatively).

Mine can use DDR4 but I still have 4x4GB of DDR3 RAM in it. Why? Because going overboard on RAM is one of the stupidest things you can do when building/upgrading a PC imo.

In the ~8 years I have had this rig I've never once ran into my RAM being a problem, including while multi-tasking on multiple RAM-heavy processes at once. Like, ~20 tabs in Chrome (1 playing video), video/photo editing, AND running a current-gen game simultaneously. Never broken ~75% usage and never had lag due to RAM.

Right?!? Mine neither. Can't get any better. Than mediocre

Three or four months ago I got 128gigs for 388 dollars. Now it would cost 2,418 dollars for the same amount of ram.

Just like now in December and November, in that order. Idk about you, but on my region the prices just doubled.
