Starting digging 2ft deep and 2 feet wide. After breaking my back I starting digging to the manufacturers recommendations. 14 inches deep and 8 wide

The whole run is about 50 feet long.

EZ-drain pipe. Costs $50 per 10ft section. The styrofoam acts as the gravel would in a conventional french drain. It was pricey, but it was a labor saver.

Getting the 1% downward slope was the most mentally taxing part. I needed my confidence man to come over and tell me everything was gonna be ok. I didn't wanna bury it if it wasn't right. It would have all been for nothing.

There is a 4 foot pit at the end of the run. The pipe end is connected to a popup emitter that has a drainage slot in the bottom. In the hole is large quarter size rocks to facilitate drainage. It works like a charm and I no longer have water getting into my basement through the foundation.

Did that in my basement. Loads of fun
