Burnout is real. Mental break is just as important as physical break.

I wish my boss thought like this! Currently on verge of quitting with nothing to go to because I've been running on empty for months.

I’m not gonna lie. I always have a panic attack when my gas is before e. Even if the car tells me how much mileage I have left. Same w/ feel

I usually just put a sticker and put the music so loud that i dont hear the beep

I recently dealt with this. Chronic burnout is no joke... full on depression and shit.

I’d love to take a break, but that would mean getting fired and having no job:(

Liz Fosslien clearly doesn't drive

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am in this picture and I do not like it

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Are... are you a fuel gauge? Was this picture taken against your will?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes but with food.

I work in animation and I feel like some sort of rebel finishing work when I'm supposed to. My company encourages it but previous jobs -

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

- especially those in VFX would try extract as much work and time from you as possible. Fuckin' messed me up

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just remember, it's cheaper to fill up from half than it is from empty.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My 5 year old is a pro at identifying "When you're done, you're done". As in- you've pushed yourself, exceeded your limit, and time up.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And she takes that approach to any goal she has, she'll push herself to reach a goal (recently swimming) to the point of exhaustion.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But she knows when she reaches that limit, and it's time to stop, because you'll just hurt yourself or others if you keep going.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why should we take a break when we're full... oh, it's wrong way around.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Eh, it's got another good week in it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nonesense, work more for your corporate masters /s

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's no fuel indicator. It's Petrol gauge.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait, y'all take breaks?

4 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

*falls off sofa into pile of empty liquor bottles*

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I take breaks. I think they call them break-downs. I don't get why people like them so much.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I just call in sick a couple days a month.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't get that, either.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean we don't truly need to stop to refuel until we are empty!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And you post this here?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m not gonna lie. I always have a panic attack when my gas is before e. Even if the car tells me how much mileage I have left. Same w/ feel

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Time to fill that tank up to empty

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

A break? Who has time for that? What would I do on this "break"? This kind of shit is only for people who don't struggle in every way every

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Day of their life.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does it bother anyone else that they're showing empty on the right instead of the left?

4 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 4

One of my cars has E at the bottom, and F at the top, need "drops" anti clockwise...

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think it's because that is when you are in the red and on empty (mentally)? Maybe?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What? It's always on the right?

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 7

Fun fact, if other people are familiar with seeing E on the left and full on the right, by definition it is not "always on the right."

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

1. Love your user name. 2. Phrased it as a question because I hadn't really thought of it being the other way around.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where?

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Australia. Then again, we drive on the other side of the road, I wonder if that's why?

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

UK: my mondeo has E on the left, my q30 has E at the bottom. (my jag, mazda, focus, all on the left)

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I feel double attacked.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought empty is usually the same side as the gas tank indicator

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not always. In my car, E is on the driver's side but the fuel fill is on the passenger side.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My q30 has E at the bottom, F at the top, but the filler cap on the right ;)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My car must fill up from the bottom then, as E at at the 6 o'clock position, and F at the 12.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The gas icon is below your gauge?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I thought empty is usually the same side as the gas tank indicator" E is at the bottom, fuel gauge 1/

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

is the insert in the speedometer on the left. E at bottom, F at top, logo to the right, fuel filler is on the left of the car. 2/2

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is anyone else a tiny bit irked that the E is on the right? Maybe I just need a break

4 years ago | Likes 768 Dislikes 0

Of course, it's a stupid message with a shoddy image

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

4 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Once bought a used car and thought, neeto they filled the tank. 50 kilometers later i ran out on the autobahn... Fucking confusing shit

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was gonna say that. That’s just wrong. Fix it.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yeah everyone seeing this when a friend posted it on FB was confused and thought it meant we were slacking, taking a break on a full tank.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

First thing I saw too. Ugh

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was very confused for a minute, ok maybe like 30 seconds

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes. It's freaking me out, man. Make it stop!

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I’ve driven at least two different cars with the gas gauge set up this way...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That tells you it's time for an E. Work hard play hard.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

A tiny bit!?!? Never seen that shit in my life. Probably driven 25+ vehicles, and all of them were the other way. This immediately bugged me

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hate it

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

It confused the hell otta me

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get your breaks out if the way first. Maybe a narcissist made this graph.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is narcissist

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You need an E break.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

didn't even notice. I thought the point was taking a break when all is good and you're relaxed and ready. The colour baffled me a bit.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Why would it go anti-clockwise?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine is rotated 90 degrees clockwise, the F is on top and E on the bottom. 04 Honda civic

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah that's logical though.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Must be a British model

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

My good Sir, we may sip tea while rampaging down what you consider the wrong side of the road, but I assure you our gages are not backwards.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There you go guys

¿suɐᴉlɐɹʇsnɐ ʇnoqɐ ʇɐɥʍ ʇnq ... I worry about my friends on the other side of the world!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a brief moment of terror that the text would now be mirrored, you are stout of constitution to resist doing that to me.

4 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

I expected it too.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks. The fear has now passed

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Oh I guess that won't bother me when I go to bed now.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Now put a ◀️ next to the little gas symbol.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Or a ?. Its supposed to point to where you refuel ?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

An up arrow would indicate the refuelling hatch is on the front of the vehicle though.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks Liz. All is ok in the world now.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I aint no Liz, but I'll take it, lol
