Love her.

Why can't we get more South Africans like her? Why we gotta get ones like Elon and his whole family?

It doesn’t matter… she will remain involuntarily single forever and cry about it in every interview, just like she did in the past. The best thing about it is that she doesn’t understand why it’s happening to her.

Monster put me in a depressive episode that lasted three days. Kudos to her performance.

“The Ron!”

Hyperdrive, which Charlize produced, was pretty fricken cool. It was like Sasuke (American Ninja Warrior), but with cars. I'm bummed there was only one season.

Not to forget Atomic Blonde and The Old Guard

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Atomic Blonde was SO good! I love how they actually get tired and worn out during fighting.

I'm not sure whether or not I'm racist but it sounds weird to me to read the "first African to..."

2 days in the valley was a great movie of hers

I know it is hard to see, but does her colonial heritage make her really the first african to win in a major role ? Just babblin' but this feels fundamentally wrong on some level, like a twisted form of blackface to call her that.

I like her in the Italian Job

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That movie set off a whole stunt driving sub-career for her. She did several of her own stunts in that, more stunts in fury road, the Fast and Furious movie she was in and produced a driving competition show on Netflix.

I'm not sure why she is The Ron, and at this point I'm afraid to ask.

She needs to learn to run sideways.

She crushed it on "Hot Ones"

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

somehow feels wrong to call her "first african to win"

Yes it does.

Late 90's a strange but interesting era for movies.

I miss thin eyebrows.

Atomic Blonde was awesome too, she made a very stylish 80's era spy 😍

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where everyone in west Berlin was apparently driving a Porsche. The movie had some interesting bits but the setting was framed incredibly poorly. Like Miami Vice bad.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Atomic Blonde is some great fight scenes, some soft porn, some great acting by James McAvoy, and some good music. The plot is a bit of a mess.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but it wasn't meant to be a serious spy flick, it would be like admonishing Die Hard for not being an accurate cop movie lol

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He did shoot a lot of people.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but they were all bad guys, none of them were innocent people begging for their lives or reaching for their wallets lol

I feel it important that we all remember that Sean Penn (noted goat extortionist beneathe the bridge) actually *cheated* on her. So there, if you ever feel dumb, remember that Sean Penn is dumber than you.

Then why does she still say he was the love of her life and she wishes she was still with him?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Unless you are Sean Penn himself, then you are exactly as dumb as Sean Penn. I have no idea however how much this is in Fahrenheit.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

When your relationship history includes being married to Madonna and Robin Wright my best guess is that he knows he's got it so not necessarily "dumb".

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

That scenario reminds me of how Hugh Grant cheated on Elizabeth Hurley.

1 week ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

Or how Jay Z cheated on Beyoncé, or Ethan Hawke on Uma Thurman

Beauty on her level is incredibly rare but it isn’t the only factor in a relationship. None of us has any idea what was going on with them.

1 week ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 5

People arent perfect. Using someone’s imperfection as an excuse to cheat just shows how much worse you are.

As the famous scientist Albert Einstein once mused, “show me the most beautiful woman in the world and I’ll show you a guy who is sick of her shit”. However, in this particular case I fell in love with Charlize after I saw her on between two ferns and I can’t imagine anyone ever getting sick of her shit

I have 1 idea, Sean Penn is a troubled soul. I'm no expert but there is no doubt in my mind that he is not at peace.

1 week ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Yeah, calling a guy who tied Madonna to a chair and beat the shit out of her "troubled"

It's amazing how much lack-of-eyebrows contributed to this look.

And the fake teeth

I read an interview with her regarding putting on the weight for that role. I'm paraphrasing here but she said something along the lines of how amazing it was to eat a cheeseburger and not have to care.

Yup. In the same way the richest man on the planet is an African American.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of Australian Survivor a few years back, where a white South African told an African American that she (the SA) was more African than her, because she's actually from Africa. Didn't go down well.

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

ZA for South Africa and SA for Saudi Arabia ^_^ I feel "Euro African" is a better descriptor for whites, like myself, born and raised in Africa. Just like how I feel if we label blacks in America as "African American", white Americans should have the moniker "Euro American" But that's just me. :p

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Eh, its all a mess once you try bringing ethnicity into it and putting people in neat little boxes. I've got mate a whose parents immigrated to britain during the Windrush, they are black, their daughter is black, if she immigrated to the US is she African American? Euro American? british American? Caribbean American? Mess.

Afrikaner NOT AFRICAN...

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Can you explain the difference plz?

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was a brutal takeover of a sovereign land and its people, after which, it fuelled a white supremacist policy in which white Afrikaners were considered, and legally deemed the superior race/class. And the native Africans were far less than equal, it was an ugly and brutal time for native Africans.

Downvotes won't change history...

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

White people from places like Germany or the Netherlands that settled, or emigrated, in South Africa, but carry no actual native African blood. They speak Afrikaans which is a variation of Dutch. Noted that these people are also responsible for apartheid.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

So that is "Afrikaner"? Is there any difference in pronunciation other than the "R"? Thanks for the info

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe it is pronounced (Afri - k ahhh -ner) as in when the dentist says open up and say "ahhh" with a k in front of it.
