Yep

Yep

Friend cancelled plans at the last minute and I didn't have time to make new ones, so I'm stuck at home. I can't get drunk because I have no alcohol in the house, all of my friends and my boyfriend are out partying so I have no one to call, and I don't even have money to order a fucking pizza, so looks like it's ramen for me. I know you guys don't care but I've had a really shitty year and at this point I wish I was dead

Just had my 5th new years in a row alone. I feel your pain.

Keep trying. You can have much worse.

I’m with you. If I wasn’t so drunk I’d offer to bring you whiskey. Fuck 2017 and fuck 2018, too.

You have imgur and us, so at least you got that going for you.

You have friends and a boyfriend which is more than some people. Hope your 2018 is better for you.

@OP, if I was closer I would offer to buy you a drink. No one should have a shitty new years or wish they were dead.

Well even if you're not close enough, I appreciate it anyway. Thank you

Well at worst, you always have the crazy folk here on imgur to spend the new years talking with.

If this is the worst new years you've had consider yourself lucky.

You don't know nearly enough about my life to be making that kind of comment

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

You literally just explained it to a bunch of strangers, so yeah I do.

Your life might be boring enough to be summarized in a couple of sentences, but that's not the case for me or most people

Having no alcohol is not the horrible thing. The horrible thing is the closeted boyfriend who ditched you for family. Honesty=freedom.

If you need to talk, send me a message. I can always listen. Even if it is tonight. I am just keeping an eye on the party and people.

me above his familt

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I appreciate that, but it's more complicated than that. We haven't been dating very long, so it would be silly to expect him to place

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That makes a bit more sense. I can see both sides of this story. Coming out is its own experience and timing for everyone.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah- he's a great boyfriend, but.. this still really bums me out

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. It certainly can be hard, especially with the cancelling of plans. I feel for you!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

id like to know why you dont go join your boyfriend

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I second this question and imagine there is a story behind it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because he's with his family and they don't know he's gay

Name checks out

What a fun time to surprise them! (Just kidding - sorry).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well that sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tell me about it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That really sucks. There comes a time where you choose your TRUE family, the people who love and respect you. It really does get better.

I hope so, man

I wouldn’t change anything. I would give up my family for our relationship if I had to and our friends are better than family (2/2)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve been through this and know that you will too. Be true to yourself and it will work out. Bad nights happen, I still have them, life. 3/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My husband and I are 22 years together, I’ve had people yell horrible things to me, throw me out of places, etc. (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's awful- as upset as I am right now, I'm really glad I didn't grow up in a place/time where that stuff happens
