On July 4th, 1996, Will smith and Jeff Goldbum, along with our armed forces, successfully repelled an alien invasion that could have wiped our very existence off the face of the Earth. Can't believe it's been 20 years already! Never forget.

1996-07-04 in internationally accepted coding. Also the virus was shown to be cultivated on the Roswell Incident ship in a deleted szene.

What's that smell? I could have been at a BBQ!

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

apparently that wasn't in the script and the smell was from dead creatures on the salt plain

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The Salt Lake really does smell awful.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got pretty sad when I saw the sequel got a 30%~ on RottenTomatoes.

Can't believe how stupid the aliens were- trying to steal resources from the only planet with intelligent inhabitants who could defend them.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The new movie was pretty good, a great set up for new ones. Brent Spiner alone is worth admission

We can't forget. They just came back. Haven't heard much about it, though, so it must be crap.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I liked it. It was meh.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a friend who manages a theater so we can do free after hours showings. I save those night for things like Apocalypse and this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I can't think of anything else good right now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally just finished showing this to @mrskentrik for the first time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got really surprised then, as a english man i was born 7th of april 1996.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

SOMEBODY forgot Will Smith. Like, the entire sequel maybe??

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Apparently he wanted too much money and he wanted Jaden to be in it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I heard he had to pick between ID2 or Suicide Squad, and picked the later.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is the new movie any good? I loved the old ones, to hell with critics. I want a stoner's opinion.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I hated it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

jeff goldblum makes a surprisingly good school bus driver

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you go in knowing its shit, you'll enjoy it. Its not as good as the original one, but its a visually pleasing stupid ass movie.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

It's bad almost hillariously bad, but if you can ignore the new bloods its actually decent

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

I thoroughly enjoyed it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let's say it'd make a great RiffTrax movie.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Friendly neighborhood stoner here- movie was pretty decent. Pretty much similar feeling as watching the first one

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Also hated it. Every attempt at pithy humour fell flat. Just awful.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you have a luxury theater like the Alamo Draft House in your town, I'd go see it there. It's a good excuse to go eat dinner.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It just passed up Jurassic World as my least favorite movie. Completely unapologetic lazy ass money grab. Not even the acting was good.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

It was meh. Good idea, not so good execution in my opinion.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It wasn't awful. It wasn't the best, either. It was definitely meant for nostalgia purposes. Felt like a lot of, "Hey, remember these guys?"

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I'm totally fine with that. Did they set it up for a 3rd installment in another 20 years?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Seemed like it, yeah.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup, minor spoiler but it will likely involve us fighting the aliens on their own planets next time.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The rest of the world will remember 4/7/1996

I'll remember 4.7.1996.

Someone tell Will Smith!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never understood why America does Month Day Year when Logically Day Month Year makes more sense.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 8

It's faster in spoken word. Day of Month is mostly used for honorary days, like the 4th of July. July 4th is faster, but informal.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Saying month day year is more easy on the tongue imo. February 23rd 1997 versus THE 23rd OF February 1997. US way is two words shorter.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Legit question, do other countries say "July third" or "third of July" in conversation?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the language. 25 Avril, in french is faster then the other way around. As a Canadian, sort of carries over into English.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thanks

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

German doesn't need the "of", it can be done in word endings. so "vierter Juli" is fourth [of] July".

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

danke schoen

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Dutch we say it day month and I believe Swedes do as well
